Samurai Deeper Kyo - since u liked demon king u might like this one
PSYЯEN - this one is another nice action packed manga with some really slow romance as subplot (its a bit seriuos where people die and main characters fight for survival in place there they are taken by mysteriuos man against fearsome beasts)
Veritas - awsome fighting, supernatural manga about martial arts (in other words they can use powers which cuts buidings in half) but i realy didnt like ending 😔
Übel Blatt - it takes place in diferent world and has a nice plot.

These are some good supernatural fighting mangas with some romance in them (this is what i like to read especiali with nice ecchi 😎 ) :
Mahou Tsukai Kurohime - this is nice ecchi, romance, comedy and action manga about strongest witch and her battle against gods 😉
IM Dal-Young - almost all his mangas have ecchi, supernatural, romance. I read almost all of them since they aren't boring and have nice plot which hooks u up. But problem about him is he liks to take loooooong breaks like one of his manga unbalancex2 was on hiatus for 4 years 😲 . And just after that time he came back and finished it.
Sora no Otoshimono - this one is pure comedy i almost laughed to death in some chapters 🤣 mmm i guess i will go and watch anime again from the begining 😃
Hekikai no AiON - no ecchi but this one a bit more focused about romance i dont know u might like ( for me its so - so i read it but ...)
Id - a really great manga where action takes place in diferrent dimension. In it exist magic, elfs, dwarfs and dragons (shortly fantasy world 🙂 ). Main char is so strong u might say hes like god 😛 .
Dance in the Vampire Bund - main guy is werewolf and his family since acient time was servant of royal vampire family. Basically this manga is about romance between main guy and vampire princess. But dont worry its has good plot and a lot of fighting scenies.
HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD - if u like zombies 🤣
Eden no Ori - after plane crash people have to survive in some prehistoric island which has a lot of monsters

This should be enought 🤣 i hope atleast some of them are to your liking 😃

If not at least read Saiyuki Gaiden because that one is set in the heavens.

Not exactly gods, but they're all reincarnations and one of them is the Monkey King. Plus the premises of the plot is gods vs. demons...kinda. Check it out. it's brilliant.

Haigakura ...kinda. The main protagonist's background is ambiguous. It's alternate universe, but the god element is definitely there.

I actually don't like ecchi very much, I've been unlucky with it and most echi I read turned out to be boring and generic with reeaally annoying either female leads or male leads, za horror Dx

Its been some time since i read it so most i cannt remember but i know first time i didnt read past 5 chapters because main char was quite wimpy but since i handnt anything to do second time i read more and i really liked it. Later on hes more battling so the cool side shown.

Even though this is kind of childish it's freakin hilarious and the main guy is a badass. Kamisama Hajimemashita it's about a poor girl named Nanami who had to leave her home because of her father (he was a bad gambler), while on the run from debt collectors she saves a man who was getting attacked by dogs. By saving him, the man gives her his home. After he gave her the map to his house he disappeared and the female lead heads to his house. When she arrives the house is a shrine, a shabby, deserted, and old shrine. She enters in and meets a kitsune familiar named Tomoe. The rest is for you to find out. It's all pure comedy and romance if you like that stuff.

Another one is Bride of the Water God it's a Korean manhwa. The lead female named Soah is the prettiest girl within her village but due to her beauty she is sacrificed to become the Bride of the Water God. When Soah wakes up after the villagers sacrificed her, Soah arrives in the land of the gods. When she meets the Water God, it's only a little kid named Habaek. Once she is welcomed into his palace she meets a handsome man who was in the water named Mui. The rest is for you to read and for me to await your reaction.

This doesnt really fit as he isnt labeled a god, he does have a god like powers and

killed god 😀 cant explain how it may fit without spoiling something more ... you wanted something that looked ancient and where the romance is secondary so try Id

Ah i just spouting random mangas which i think u might like sorry for not sticking to what u asked.
But i really am out of ideas 😢 i can only suggest couple more random mangas with great plot:
Gunka no Baltzar - its still ongoing and has only 6 chapters but it will probably be one of my favorites 😃
mmm i know i wanted to write 2 mangas but damn i forgot what the 2 was that i wanted to write 😲

07 Ghost - Depending on how you interpret god, I would say at least half the cast is at least a god or demi-god. I don't want to give away spoilers but it fits all your criteria.

Matantei Loki - Norse Gods everywhere in this one, though the female protagonist is extremely irritating.

Akuma no Ororon - Ok, so it centres around love, but is anything but lovely dovey so you might like it. The mangaka deals very much with stark realities rather than ideal fantasies.

The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.

The comedy comes in later, after Kurama is in more often. I like it because of Tomoe's personality. Just read it for Tomoe, even though he acts like those typical badasses he's actually really sweet and caring.

You can also read Mirai Nikki it's a manga where people are competing to be the successors of a God. A battle royal themed manga with romance. The main girl is extremely stalkerish and loves the main guy to the point of killing people so he can be a god (she's also competing too).

07 Ghost is one of my favourite manga! It has a really intricate plot so it doesn't ever get boring.

I really understand about Matantei Loki, the manga would be much better off without her, I can't really see why she's even there except to be annoying. I suppose it's suppose to be comic relief, but she isn't in any way funny. It took me a long time to finish because I kept getting irritated with her and reading something else.

Akuma no Ororon was great, the mangaka has some other interesting work as well, but Akama no Ororon is my favourite.

Also, I just remembered Chronicles of the cursed sword - which I haven't finished yet, but might fit. It's more demonic powers than a god though.

The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.
