Also i don't see the need sad music on vids from Japan in order to feel sympathy, i should think people losing their lives and homes would make me feel bad enough.\

I was so shocked when I heard about this, I think it was only three hours after it happened. I've been watching videos about the quakes, and they weren't that bad, but the tsunami...

People were swept away with it in their cars and houses, and two trains are missing. How can a train disappear? My imagination is making me nauseous.

I've always known that there are a lot of earthquakes in Japan, and I knew that they were waiting for a big one, but still, it's shocking.

I'm sure the red cross or someone else will soon start collecting catastrophe money, I'll be happy to give them some. Japan is a rich country, but still, they'll need all the help people are willing to give.

I was shocked too! Especially since Japan is one of the world's most prepared countries in case of a natural disaster! Still, I'm glad that the earthquake didn't really happen in a very populated area, but in a place where there weren't many people...or I may have heard wrong.....

As for help, at around 4:00 AM Washington time, President Obama phoned Japan asking whether they needed help, or that's what the news said.

I've been out all day and have only heard an assortment of snippets about the disaster. Just got around to properly reading up on it, pretty fucking disheartening. Here's hoping the nuclear reactors stay unaffected.

Just to let people now. Mina & I are doing fine. Yesterday was really really really scary and we've been without power for a long time but it got back an hour ago. Luckily we could contact our families to let them know we are okay and hear that they are okay.

About the situation. there are lots of things going on about the Nuclear reactor but nothing is sure just yet. For the rest, everything around here is mostly shut down and the only people driving around are rescue workers, police and part of the army. though are area wasn't so badly hurt as the Sendai area

Always sad to see. I'm glad Japan, at least, has its shit together. If this disaster had occurred in many U.S. cities, we'd be looking at 10x that death toll (at least.) The fact those buildings actually withstood such a massive earthquake is testament enough. Hell, I live in Utah, on a major fault line, yet even our schools aren't earthquake regulation.

I just heard in the radio that the amouth of dead people its around almost 2000... this is truly a disaster, and i saw shoking images of the northeastern coastal city of Sendai, the city in Miyagi prefecture with around 300 people floating around (mostly are sure tu be dead).... i just hope that nothing more happens, lately its been one disaster after the other around the world, WTF is going on!
