So chillin’ in the front seat (In the front seat)
In the back seat (In the back seat)
I’m drivin’, cruisin’ (Yeah, yeah)
Fast lanes, switchin’ lanes
Wit’ a car up on my side (Woo!)
(C’mon) Passin’ by is a school bus in front of me
Makes tick tock, tick tock, wanna scream
Check my time, it’s Friday, it’s a weekend
We gonna have fun, c’mon, c’mon, y’all

Oh yeah, Savage Garden- I want you
Anytime I need to see your face
I just close my eyes
And I am taken to a place where your crystal mind and
Magenta feelings take up shelter in the base of my spine
Sweet like a chica cherry cola

I don't need to try to explain;
I just hold on tight
And if it happens again, I might move so slightly
To the arms and the lips and the face of the human cannonball
That I need to, I want to

Come stand a little bit closer
Breathe in and get a bit higher
You'll never know what hit you
When I get to you

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh I would die to find out

I'm the kind of person who endorses a deep commitment
Getting comfy getting perfect is what I live for
But a look, and then a smell of perfume
It's like I'm down on the floor
And I don't know what I'm in for

Conversation has a time and place
In the interaction of a lover and a mate,
But the time of talking, using symbols, using words
Can be likened to a deep sea diver who is swimming with a raincoat

Come stand a little bit closer
Breathe in and get a bit higher
You'll never know what hit you
When I get to you

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh I would die to find out

Oooooh yeah, oooh yeah

Anytime I need to see your face
I just close my eyes
And I am taken to a place where your crystal mind and
Magenta feelings take up shelter in the base of my spine
Sweet like a chica cherry cola

I don't need to try to explain;
I just hold on tight
And if it happens again, I might move so slightly
To the arms and the lips and the face of the human cannonball
That I need to, I want you

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh I would die to find out

So can we find out?

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh I would die to find out

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out (I'd die to find out)
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you (ooh can we find out)
But, ooh I'd die to find out

This is a fantastic topic, seriously! Kudos to the OP!! I'm shocked that I never saw this before, so kudos to the person who revived it!!

Whenever I feel stressed or down, I immediately go to Coldplay. In particular, I listen to "Amsterdam" / Coldplay (this version is from the Live 2003 DVD/CD... in which there is more emotion from the frontman... I also live for the "crescendo" that slowly begins around 3:41 in the video - and that sick e-bow use at 4:01 and fades at the end)

Quote from "Amsterdam" / Coldplay
Come on, oh my star is fading
And I swerve out of control
If I, if I'd only waited
I'd not be stuck here in this hole

Come here, oh my star is fading
And I swerve out of control
And I swear I waited and waited
I've got to get out of this hole

But time is on your side
It's on your side now
Not pushing you down and all around
It's no cause for concern

Come on, oh my star is fading
And I see no chance of release
And I know I'm dead on the surface
But I am screaming underneath

And time is on your side
It's on your side now
Not pushing you down and all around
Oh, it's no cause for concern

Stuck on the end of this ball and chain
And I'm on my way back down again
Stood on a bridge, tied to a noose
Sick to the stomach
You can say what you mean
But it won't change a thing
I'm sick of the secrets

Stood on the edge
Tied to a noose
And you came along
And you cut me loose

You came along
And you cut me loose
You came along
And you cut me loose

This song really speaks to me. I interpret it as someone who is facing a difficult time... feeling like you're fading away (kind of like an emotional suicide), but then someone (or something be it an actual person or faith) comes and saves you from the feeling of being a burden... to show that the troubled being has worth. Seriously... I will sing this song over and over... blast it on my iPod. eyes

---

Another song that I adore is "Death and All His Friends / The Escapist (Hidden Track)" / Coldplay ..."The Escapist" (Hidden Track) starts at 3:33.

Quote from "Death and All His Friends" / Coldplay
...
So come over, just be patient and don't worry
And don't worry

No I don't want a battle from beginning to end
I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge
I don't want to follow death and all of his friends

The crescendo that starts at 1:19 man... seriously... love this song... starts off quiet, then onslaught of percussion and bass... and that sweet sweet electric guitar riff starting at 2:19 is so sooo sick... followed by all members chiming in for the ending lyrics...

It's like a revolution... you're determined not to let things get to you!! YEAHHHH!!! bigrazz

Quote from "The Escapist" / Coldplay
And in the end we lie awake and we dream of making our escape
mMMmmmmmmmm....

Mind-numbing hidden track... it's got this kinda surreal feeling, no? What's wrong with dreaming? biggrin Escaping to another world... a fleeting moment.

TL;DR -- Basically, I will never be bored of Coldplay - "Amsterdam" AND Coldplay - "Death and All His Friends / The Escapist (Hidden Track)".

So many more lyrics... but that'll be it from me for now. roll

Behind Blue Eyes - The Who

The lyrics, the guitar.... amazing song. Simply Amazing.

Viva La Vida (Long Live Life) - Coldplay

Again, the lyrics, the violin.... amazing.

And hobbitelf518 - tried those songs, loved them too. Coldplay became my favorite band with that smile

Over by Epik High.
Along with the majority of their songs.

You got so much to prove
Hopin they approve
The only thing that's true is all you ever do is do
You're movin shoe to shoe
But you're not goin
You stop growin
The moment that you stay at the top
The only way is to drop
Free fallin down the stairs that you climbed up, lined up to freely mount the air
But you dare not air drop
Tied up like a hair knot
Hikin down without a chance of steppin on a fair rock
And so you stand still in a standstill
Hands still building castles on a sand hill
Man chill is what your friends say
But you're not hearin what little men say anyway

Keep on goin and taste the stars
Keep on growin and raise the bar
You're livin life for the A's down to the Z's
After the hill you gotta mountain to seize

You are an overachiever
Do what it takes till it takes everything you are
You are an overachiever
Do what it takes till it takes everything you are

Who can tell
Your livin is an organized hell
The mansion of your mind just an over sized cell
The pressure
Everythin is done to a measure
In the sea of competition sunk like a treasure
Like a feather fallin slow
Spiraling to the floor
Strung up like a broken violin to your course
Opportunity is knockin at your door
But you never left a welcome mat (it doesn't matter anymore)
Or anyhow but you're too late to turn back
Fate pushin you into the wall like a thumbtack
Ain't no comebacks in this game of life
Roll the dice again
Roll it once, never twice

Keep on goin and taste the stars
Keep on growin and raise the bar
You're livin life for the A's down to the Z's
After one drop you gotta fountain to seize

You are an overachiever
Do what it takes till it takes everything you are
You are an overachiever
Do what it takes till it takes everything you are

You are an overachiever
Do what it takes till it takes everything you are
You are an overachiever
Do what it takes till it takes everything you are

(Want a break from the world but the world wanna break you
The weight makes your back bone curl up and ache you)

You are an overachiever
Do what it takes till it takes everything you are

(Want a break from the world but the world wanna break you
The weight makes your back bone curl up and ache you)

Regina Spektor's "Genius Next Door" espcially the "getting high and mumbling german fables" and " strip his clothes off by the dumpster" lol
Some people say its about auto-erotic asphxyiation and/or a genius drowning in a lake or dieing some other.... but I think of it as a message of hope...

Same Old Blues - Freddie King

[url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95YlwLT5ZT4&NR=1

Morning rain keeps on falling
Like the tears that fall from my eyes
As I sit in my room
Staring out at the gloom
It's the rain, it's the same old blues

I can't help, I can't help but thinking
When the sun used to shine on my back door
Now the sun is turned to rain
All my laughter is turned to pain
Yes it's the pain of the same old blues

(instrumental intermission)

Sunshine, sunshine is all you see now
But it all, it all looks like clouds to me
When I sit in my room
Staring out at the gloom
It's the rain, it's the same old blues
Yeah, yes it's the rain, it's the same old blues
Yeah, yes it's the rain, it's the same old blues

There's just something about this song, some strange kind of uplifting, transient feeling amidst a backdrop of of sadness and despair. I can never put my finger on it, but I guess it could be described as a sort of uplifting transcendence.
