Hi folks, I have a question:
Is this mangaka (MOTOMI Kyousuke) a lady or a dude? I thought this person was a dude at first (because of the name Kyousuke), but now when I click on the profile, it says female (even though the person in the drawing below is definitely a dude with a mustache) ...see link:

Didn't manga-update use to list this person as male? Anyway, I've tried searching around, but I keep getting mixed answers. So does anybody know for sure which it is?

Me too... I thought it was kinda cool that the mangaka is actually a guy. Not that I mind if it turns out to be just a lady with a dude's name.

I think it could be a woman, based on the shoujo work. The picture does throw me off though. :/

I've never heard of a Japanese person whose name is "Kyousuke" and is a girl. I think someone just thought that because he does shoujo, she's a girl.
But he's a guy. He is.

XD you have to remember they use pen names, not their actual name sometimes! Could easily be a man or a woman.

He's a guy...coz the way he writes his story is kinda cool in a boyish way....his works r all shoujo manga but wit a boyish feel to it....so I jus luv all his work n his characters r way too awesome...
This shouldn't be based on whether or not the mangaka only does shoujos. There are male mangakas that draw shoujo, same way there are female mangakas that draw shounen. Yes, I know, rare; but not impossible. XD
The mangaka could easily be a female just using a male pen name. Or maybe they are male. I say male, even though every other forum is linking his MU info page as a source...which could just be an error on the database.
Male~

Kyousuke is indeed a guy's name. I've never heard of a female with that name. :/

A mod or admin should lock the edit button for this mangaka's gender. It's corrected now but I bet someone's going to change it again.
On a separate note, some female mangaka just like to use male-sounding names. Takagi Shigeyoshi, for example. (Mod please lock this one as well XD )

Ah... so it really is a guy drawing this manga. No wonder his stories doesn't read like typical shoujo manga. His heroines are so emotionally strong, resourceful and intelligent. Heh... he writes better shoujo than a lot of female mangaka.
