I'm looking for romance manga where:

-Others expect the main characters to be a certain person.
(I.e. A jock isn't supposed to sing, an ace student isn't supposed to..., a popular guy isn't supposed to...)
I personally think Otomen is a good example of the above.

-The main characters are tired of being someone they are not.

-The main characters seek refuge in one another.

-Gradually break out of their shell and become their own person(s).

Those weren't conditions; those were all of my expectations.
Sorry for not being clear, but thanks for your recommendation. [:

You're My Girlfriend - A peeerfect example of this. xD
Eensy Weensy Monster - Very cute and by the author of Kare Kano. smile
Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen - The main character gradually becomes how she pretends to be, though.
Kono Koi wo Wasurenai. - The third one-shot (The Flower that Blooms in You) kinda fits.

A lot of gender-benders also have this theme if they're forced into gender bending and some maho-shoujo do, too.

Shugo Chara - the heroine, Amu, transfers to a new school and because of nerves, she comes off as kinda cool and a bit... edgy and distant, but that's not how she is at all. After that it kind of devolves into a crazy mahou shoujo explosion of fantasy, but I'm not saying that's a bad thing. It fits your requirements anyway.

I'm looking for manga where the main characters are TIRED of being someone they are not and they try to change that.
I don't think the heroine of Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen is like that.
Same goes for 'The Flower that Blooms in You',
because it was her own choice. :\
