I've been wondering about this for a while now, so...

1. What is your favourite demographic? Why do you like it?

2. Your favourite manga from each demographic? (Please keep your choices limited- a maximum of 3 favourites for each)

3. Is there any demographic you previously avoided, but have now grown to like? If so, what made you change your mind?

4. Conversely, is there a demographic you previously liked, but now avoid? Why?

Please note that when I say 'demographic', I mean seinen, shounen, josei and shoujo. NOT genres! The only exception to this is yaoi, yuri and hentai, which are often difficult to classify under one of those four groups.

As for me;

1. Favourite demographic - Seinen. It's even in my top three. I can't really say why I like it, though. Since I'm a girl, most people expect shoujo to be my favourite. I like shoujo, of course, but not as much as seinen! The reason is a mystery, even to me 🤣

2. Seinen - Mushishi , Chii's Sweet Home , Liar Game
   Shoujo - Himitsu , Yakumo Tatsu , Kokoro ni Hana wo!!
   Shounen - Yotsubato! , Kimi to Boku , Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
   Josei - +C: Sword and Cornett , di(e)ce , Pet Shop of Horrors

3. There was no demographic I disliked from the get-go. I tried out some of each when I first started reading manga, and found that there were good ones in all four.

4. I still like seinen, shounen, josei and shoujo. I doubt that will change anytime soon.

So, what about you people? I'd love to know, so please reply!

1. What is your favourite demographic? Seinen. Why do you like it? As I matured, I started to appreciate it more.

   Seinen: Zetman, Vagabond, Onani Master Kurosawa
   Shounen: One Piece, Slam Dunk, I"s
   Josei: Gokusen (Don't read much Josei to have a top 3)
   Shoujo: Don't read any Shoujo

3. Is there any demographic you previously avoided, but have now grown to like? If so, what made you change your mind? Seinen. What I said in #1 was the reason why I changed my mind.

4. Conversely, is there a demographic you previously liked, but now avoid? Why? I used to read a bit of Shoujo when I first discovered manga cause I didn't really know what kind of demographics there were in manga. As I got older, I couldn't find any Shoujo manga that wouldn't make me rage, so I ended up not reading any altogether.
