SERIES 7: Steel Ball Run
This is basically another story arc of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure with a different title. It's the seventh instalment of the JoJo saga and takes place in the wild west in 1890 (about the same time period as the first arc of JoJo).
I personally think it's more of a reboot rather than an AU. Nevertheless I wonder how this will all link up (if it does). Very enjoyable though and it's not a joestar who is the sole protagonist ^^
@kapuppy- If you had correctly understood the end of part 6, you would know that as a result of Stairway to Heaven, Steel Ball Run is indeed an AU but it is canon. Just give it another few years. It's probably the most ambitious JoJo project so far and one of the best. And probably a bit more mature-oriented. Sooo... read it. And the rest of JoJo for that matter. and @ Guymaioh ^
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Note that one of the Dio Brandos that were pulled across dimensions had the stand "The World" meaning that Steel Ball Run is indeed an AU
Well about this manga... The main Char is Johnny Joestar so he can be shortened jojo... he even said that in the 2nd or so chapter. About the time As it have DIO in it must be before dio became a "Vampire" or prolly after he got The Joestar's body; cant say for sure cuz im barely in vol3 if anyone feels like changing the description feel free
SBR is an AU of Jojo part 1, but it has no connection to the other parts and can be read on its own, which makes it a good place to start! Although of course it's better if you've read the rest, since you'll get what stands are and notice all the character cameos and so on. It actually does relate to the end of JoJo Part 6, but it would be a spoiler to say how.
As for the content... it's more Jojo. By now, either you love crazy homoerotic freaky nonsense with excessively detailed violence, or you don't. The setting is a horse race across America in 1890, from San Francisco to NYC, with lots of asskicking in between. Plus collecting the mummy body parts of Jesus while fighting dinosaurs. Really.
I love Steel Ball Run. I started reading it without knowing it's another arc of JoJo but it made a great story by itself. The amount of great characters presented is astounding. You will have a hard time deciding which one to cheer on. Highly recommended.
