Charming characters and the main plot is a bit cliche (spoiler: ancient evil will awaken soon) but don't let you scare you off, the plot isn't the main draw.

The main draw is how humans and demons interact with each other in the modern world. The story is not afraid to acknowledge human conflict (chapter 15 rips humanity for being just as warlike as demons as told by a STONE; not even a magical stone, just a stone only the reader can hear) nor is it afraid to portray demons in a downtrodden state as a result of human development. On the other hand, ordinary humans who see demons have their sanity destroyed so badly, they're memories are erased just so they can continue to live out their lives.

And in the middle? Our main protagonist working (with an organization of course) to keep the two sides from coming into conflict.

since a friend of mine was enthusiastically waiting for its next release and spokes highly of this, i thought the manga would be cool. well, it doesn't. there is something odd about the main character. the other are well defined, thus their actions are expectable. but atori herself isn't. at the beginning portrayed as lone girl who didn't need friends, but abruptly changed to very social one. and then a girl who trying so hard to be a normal, but then changed again to be overly emotional. mysterious? perhaps. interesting? nope!

to read this manga i had to muster courage because of it's weird old school art and dark atmosphere but i must say it did surprise me
the heroin was cool and likable and sometimes hot the other characters were interesting and
there is some good lightweight comedic moments
and good manga overall and i hope to see more of it
