The best parts of this title are the character relations and the feelings between Dee and Ryo and the interaction and details for the rest of the cast. The plot was good for its' time but its' fairly cookie-cutter cliched now. Still, at least the pacing is fast and doesn't drag too much.

Ah, this series is one of my all time favourites. I've read a lot of yaoi and shounen-ai, but none of them develop like this does. The art style was a bit much for me at first but it grew on me and I came to quite like it. The series is long enough that the characters are dynamic and grow as the plot (and yes, there is one) continues.

Another highpoint in this series is that there are two MEN not just a man and a character that, although male, is for all intents and purposes female.

I'd give it a read if you can still find it. I snagged it when it was coming out a few years ago and have recently only seen a volume or two on stores shelves, so grab it quick!

This was my first manga read. Ever. And I still can't think out of the top of my head of any s-ai manga to top it in my personal list. Because, yes, PLOT, dudes. You would just want to read more for the plot and the humour, and romance happens naturally along, very nicely. The art is lovely and solid, too, as far as conventional yaoi goes.

It took me forever to read one of the greatest yaoi classics, but I did, and I have to admit: It was totally awesome! Dee and Ryo make SUCH a cute couple, and there was actually development in their relationship! XD I guess it's easier to develop characters more in a story that spans several volumes, but there are some stories out there that seem to have nothing to them at all. And the plot was great. Every crime was interesting and had you on the edge of your seat. Sometimes it got pretty serious with some dark themes, but the rest was always laced with hilarious humor. I was dying with laughter throughout the whole thing! ^_^ It was seriously fantastic, and I would reccommend it to anyone, especially anyone who's trying yaoi for the first time. And I would also suggest checking out the epilogue. Especially fans of JJ! (me!) Our cute little JJ doesn't get quite so bad of an ending I think... I can't wait to read the sequel!

This is the first yaoi manga I ever read...and I read it not knowing what it was. Shocked isnt even the correct word. Even now, looking back I still really liked it. It wasnt just about the yaoi as so many yaoi mangas focus on there. There's plot, and back story, and...PLOT. There's romance and a character that actually takes awhile before he falls in love with the other...sorta like (gasp) real life. A great read that every yaoi fan ought to read

I've always been a detective/cop story fan so this was right up my alley. The characters are very well developed and their past very deep. The story combines several criminal cases along with the developing romance between Dee and Ryo. The artwork isn't your average type and has a more realistic feel then most manga. If only the series was longer! Then more plot development could have taken place. Though as a warning, this series does contain a lot of heavy subjects that not all readers can take (such as rape, abuse, drugs, etc.)

One of the things I like about this manga is the fact that you get to see a nice pace development of the main characters and sub ones as well. The art work is nice also. I had a lot of laugher when I was reading this. So please give this one a try.

This series was the first for a lot of shounen-ai fans who follow the published book releases. A good solid story about two New York policemen who slowly fall in love. Dee Laytner, the brash, loud "punk off the street" cop, falls for Randy "Ryo" MacLean, the new cop in the precinct. This story follows their trials and tribulations, both in work and outside. A great story for both yaoi and shounen-ai fans.
