Serious Stuff

I've got to say I loled pretty hard at the earlier review stating that Alien Nine is the "sci-fi version of Azumanga." While it does contain a certain amount of humor, and the art is very bright and cheerful, Alien Nine has a deep and powerful undercurrent of profound and often creepy stuff going on beneath its candy coated surface. Using alien symbiosis as a metaphor for adolescence and sexual awakening, Alien Nine is as much an exploration of adulthood rites and the necessary horror of bodily change as it is a story about girls fighting monsters. More akin to Narutaru than Azumanga, Alien Nine is a deceptively complex thematic masterpiece, and I can't recommend it enough.

Consummate Horror

The 9 rating is for the very effective artwork in this, and above all for the cleverness of the mangaka in making this so convincingly be one kind of story at its beginning, and then having it gradually change into an opposite kind of story. That insidious change made reading this manga my first experience of being truly horrified by a piece of fiction in a loooong time.

Fiction of all kinds tries, apparently by unspoken agreement, to stay away from stories like this which call up our fundamental caring instincts and then use them to put us through an emotional ringer. This manga breaks that agreement--to my very great distress when I read it.

True horror is not fun. It's a wrenching experience, even when encountered merely in fiction.

Pretty Good but I thought it was Shojo!

Like the title says, I thought it was shojo! I'm surprised to see its shonen of all things, but once I think about it, it does make sense since the series lacks in number of male characters compared to females. But it's not ecchi and it's really funny! Kinda like the sci-fi version of Azumanga.

Either boy, girl, man, or woman I'm sure you'll like this manga. It might not be the "greatest" manga you've ever read. But it is pretty interesting!

It's good
The art is really stunning i really adore it so much i would like to give it 10 but sometimes the mood effect the author use to some scene somehow out of place (like there is a scene that it should be creepy but he use laces decoration in the bg)
I know some of it intentional but some of it doesn't make sense

For the story it really good but have a lot of interpretation. It was a mess, but enjoyable. The author really did a good job with the story. I read a lot people say this is comedy or azumanga daioh thing but for me it absolutely not one lol.
You can connect the story with maturity thing, coping with bully, marriage, etc, and it's up to the reader.

This one is really mix feeling

Tl;dr you should read it lol

Alien Nine definitely had some amazing artwork. Beautifully detailed and inked. I personally quite liked it, but found that the plot became a bit confusing toward the end....
