Description
Because of changes in seating arrangements, high school student Tsuda ended up behind the quiet and expressionless Endou. Their interaction is born from a trivial incident, and he begins to see Endou who he has never gotten to know before. That mole, slender nape, and soft hair. The subtle faces that he makes and little changes in his attitude. But Tsuda, who used to be indifferent about others and never made any deep connections, now feels impatient about the distance between him and Endou, who he has been gradually getting closer to. What on earth is drawing these feelings?

Symbolism much? I thought this was really fascinating....

I don't think this is the most accessible manga out there in terms of that there's so much subtle meaning in each panel and the way the story is told is completely out of wack. Most people are going to dismiss this as boring (not that there's anything wrong w/ this opinion), but for people who like those mangas that are crazy weird this is a must read.

It's a very surreal manga (i.e. Oyasumi Punpun or Annarasumunara), and quite often you'll see that what Endou and Tsuda are feeling isn't said but is expressed through pictures. Like the whole first scene when Tsuda suddenly sees Endou being twisted into some sort of pseudo-sexual position can be taken as the beginnings of his attraction to Endou. I could honestly write about 15 pages of analysis for all the subtle/surrealistic elements I saw in this. If you want a fairly straightforward manga that you don't have to sit around and analyze then this is not for you.

On the whole, I thought that Endou had quite a bit of character development for such a short series, and Tsuda was much more than just a cardboard cut-out of a character. And man oh man, is their chemistry hot. I'm ok reading through hardcore yaoi and then I read this kiss scene and I'm like "WOAW THERE." That kiss scene was probably one of the most sensual I've ever read.

Overall, I felt it was a fairly nice read that made me sit around and think for a bit. Sure it's not perfect and it's not the best BL out there, but for me, it definitely was not boring. It's a polarizing manga, just like surrealism as a genre is. Try out it, and you might end up with something you really like. Don't go in expecting the same old angst found in BL about high school students.

Different, in a good way

The art was a little sketchy but i guess that is what made it so appealing. I found it incredibly cute the way the two got together and how, despite the lack of dialouge, they still came together. Even till the end, none of them said they loved each other because it was something so obvious and was not expressed through words but with their emotions and passion.

The story was calm and i like that the order was different and that the storyline wasn't just linear, but went in different directions and to each ones version etc

However, i didnt understand the whole pencil with the number thing?

Boring

Boring is the first word that come to my mind reading this and I'm really surprise that I even finished it. So the first half was really nothing at all, no character introduction and no progress.I really can't call it slow pace because there isn't. The interaction of the main characters was so small that most scene are with other characters. I'm pretty sure that it's not only me which will be surprise with that one scene
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the kiss at the train station which Endou initiated
. After that boring first half, the second half of the manga was the POV of the other main character which repeated the story. You can basically call this a oneshot with 30 pages but just in 180 pages!!
I don't recommend this if it's not your first time reading same genre, well even if it's your first time.

This manga has that nice hazy/dreamy aura about it,- but i thought it was lacking in a lot of categories. For one, the pacing was all over the place, panels were messy and confusing. Ultimately, i can see what the mangaka was attempting to achieve for, but unfortunately it failed to have an effect on me and fell short; coming off as cliche.

Lovely!

I just loved this story! I found it sweet and beautiful and endearing.
The plot is not groundbreaking (I mean, it's a love story between two school boys) but the way it is written and drawn makes it stand out among other similar stories. The art is absolutely gorgeous, the characters are likeable (Tsuda is big and huggable; Endou and his moles are adorable; Tsuda's friend is nice and I liked how the girls were portrayed here too) and I enjoyed the pace of it all.
Some parts were touching, some funny and some very poetic.
I recommend it a lot if you like this kind of sweet, slice-of-life kind of story!!!

I haven't been reading much BL nowadays because they are either too "comicish" or just plain stupid. This is something slice-of-life that I can really relate to. The feeling of it is sincere and it's just plainly about falling in love and about letting yourself fall. I think It's extremely beautiful and I really recomend it if you fancy reading something that's not like all the crap out there.

And so very dull. I don't get what's the deal with BL nowadays -- they have no plot whatsoever, the characters are cliché and difficult to care about, there's no comedy, no real drama, and nothing remotely sweet (I mean, come on! If all else fails, at least try to make it a little cute -- and I'm not talking art-wise here) I read this story through to the end only because I'd downloaded the entire volume in one go; otherwise I'd have stopped at chapter 2.

I didn't give an exceptionally low rating only because it left me with a very neutral feeling upon its conclusion. I didn't actually hate it...which is more than can be said of some (most?) manga in this genre!
