The art is stunning, every page is amazing... And the colored ones? Just wow! The manga is an eyecandy to drool over. The characters are so beautiful. The cast is full of pretty boys.

Only 2 chapters have been scanlated so far, but I already love this manga. There is some great humor, the plot is unique... The characters are cool... did I mention they are beautiful like hell? XD

...Torikago Syndrome's the kind of manga that practically no one will like, because it doesn't have enough BL to satisfy the fujoshi, but just enough subtext to scare away everyone else. Personally, I wouldn't call it 'shounen-ai' at all, but the tag's best left there because typical shoujo fans probably shouldn't read this anyway. It's only target audience is the handful of people who are neither fujoshi nor BL-haters.

That aside, considering its length and the premise, I found it fairly enjoyable in a twisted kind of way -- certainly better than some of the shounen series that deal with the same theme in that, despite being a story about a bunch of violent and selfish schoolboys who enjoy tormenting each other in bizarre ways, it doesn't treat torture and murder as normal things that everyone's capable of, and there's no glorifying of the violence via the protagonist embracing the same lifestyle.

I don't get why some people say the plot's confusing, because it isn't at all. Everything's explained by the end, and while I wouldn't call those explanations "logical," they suit the insanity of the characters pretty well, so no complaints there. That being said, because of the length there isn't enough space for the suspense to build-up smoothly, which is a pity, but not a big enough flaw to give up on the manga altogether.

Overall, it's interesting enough and a quick read, unlike some others with the same premise that drag on for 10-20 volumes, so if you're a fan of unconventional shoujo and don't mind some BL overtones, this is worth a try.

This was my first shounen-ai manga I've read (not counting yaoi as shounen-ai) and the first chapters had me hooked and I was drooling over the art and the boys were to die over. But to me the ending seemed a little rushed and I was confused the last two chapters. Overall it's good but not the best. The art alone gets a 9/10 from me, but the story was intriguing but felt lacking with the ending.

This manga needed time. A LOT more time. You can't cram a story that deep and twisted into a two volume plot, it's just not going to end well. Due to this the story ended up lacking major character development, things just sort of...happened. This story needed pacing, it needed to be drawn out and kneaded into a good piece of dough. Instead I'm sat here with soggy flour and egg. It's somewhat of an entertaining read but other than that nothing will stay with you afterwards.

It's a great manga overall, with an amazing plot and stunning art. The only problem it has is the fast-pace ending which makes many people hate it but let's face it: according to Samamiya Akaza, the mangaka, this is because of her editor back then and in her plans, this manga would actually have 11 chapters instead so don't blame the author for that. Besides, this IS a shoujo manga so please don't read it if you are expecting BL or, just like some people below, you'll get disappointed.

They need Jesus. It's sad day when that line comes from me (especially in a fictional tale), but that day has come. The school is messed up. The only solution for something that extreme is Jesus

I love this so so much and i will always do, and this manga is gem to me and even so i read this last time is few years ago, i still remember the plot so clear too.. aghh but i hope author make abel x reinhard side story.. idk i just feels need them.. and tbh back then i hope the author will make all chara happy in the end ╥﹏╥ they are have their own sadness and i feel bad to all of themm.. the art in this manga is very amazing and the plot is complicated but the author do it very well.. the author do narration with very amazing too and bullying, incest, family problem,etc the mangaka potrait it very well.. yea everything in this manga is amazing , and what i want to said the most is, that girl mary is really really a bitch, just how can you cheat with your own boyfriend's brother ಠ_ಠ and u also assault your own child (kain) and abuse Licht ಠ_ಠ u do not care with your children u just Obsessed with Abel

Sorry, as beautiful as the art is, plot makes little sense and has little depth in spite of its attempt to dress itself with mystique. Boring. It probably only made it through the editing department on art alone, with the mysterious tint just enough to give it some meat. Bad and don't bother.
