I find it difficult to describe what it is I love about this series. I suppose it's the way the characters and their relationships are developed. The type of situation I'd expect in a shoujo is to have the anxiety-prone female protagonist and the love interest she doesn't know what to think of. Often you see many sides to the boy, and just one side of the girl, and the story consists of the girl trying to make sense of the boy and their relationship.

But in My Girl, you see different sides to the protagonist as well. Ahjin in all forms has a crush on Dohoon. Ahjin, as Ahjin, is self-conscious about her boyish look and how Dohoon sees her as a little brother. Ahjin, as Jinny, behaves more confidently (she acts "in her element") IMO, and isn't as inhibited by Dohoon's perceptions of her (since she's aware he doesn't know she's Ahjin, she can be more direct about her reactions to his behavior). Dohoon has a perception of who Ahjin is versus who Jinny is and acts uniquely toward each of them.

So in this way you have different sides of the characters in each situation, rather than just seeing the same type of behavior every time two characters meet up with the occasional small development which causes them to see each other a bit differently. This is not to say that the story has a whole ton of depth of character, it's certainly no Kare Kano, and I will say that there are definitely is resemblance in structure and plot/character elements to other shoujo I've read, but the way the plot ties in with character development is excellent, and in no respects is it substandard. This is an enjoyable, refreshing, fairly creative and unshallow story, and I'm not surprised it received a lot of 10's, fans of shoujo who are attracted to a manga like this will notice and appreciate that IMO.

It's really cute, I highly recommend this for every shoujo manhwa lovers. You'll love it. The art is pretty and the characters are very likeable, love the jealous scenes.

This series is probably the only manhwa series that I can honestly say I LOVE. It's just awesome, and - for once - I actually enjoy the art. Well worth reading!

At first I liked this manwha but it rapidly went downhill. Maybe this is what it really is like for celebrities where they have multiple people trying for them and then we have managers who think only of the careers of who they manage and not their mental or emotional health. I just could not read it fully and had to skim through it because I started hating some of the characters. I do not like deception and betrayal and that seems to be abundant in the latter chapters of this manhwa.

In the beginning the story was engaging and fun but it just went downhill. The artwork is rather typical of manhwa realistic and detailed but distracting and focusing to much on the facial structure and expressions and not enough on the atmosphere.

i like this manhwa. I'm currently waiting for the next scans just to see what happens when Dohoon finds out that AhJing is Jinny.

In Manga or Manhwa, everything is always a secret. I havn't read this yet expect for the 1st 2 chapters, but if you have the ability to look like a model, then why would you dress like an ugly girl the rest of the time. I mean, come on. Girls like to look pretty all the time. Even guys want to look handsome all the time, not just when their on jobs. Only in a manga would a girl be a beauty but keep it a secret.

Just your regular shoujo.
The main male protagonist looks a lot like a girl... not really my type of guy, but I guess that girly guys are popular in Korea and in manhwas in general.
The story is nothing special, nothing surprising but I thought that the ending was too rushed and the side relationships could use some development, but I guess that for 5 volumes it's not that bad...

I had to drop it after 9 chapters. When i read the short describe of the plot i though it is very promising, but when i saw the main protagonist who looks more like a girl and acts like a moron i lost all interest. The drawing of the girl in her normal form is just ugly, plus i don't get it why he like that guy in the first place...

I really enjoyed this manhwa. The art is very nice (and I don't usually like manhwa art, probably because I'm too used to japanese shoujo mangas). The story is a bit cliché but I believe a shoujo manga/manhwa wouldn't be good without a nice cliché or two.

I read the whole story in only 2 or 3 days because the story is very light and easy to follow and it doesn't get too long with only 5 volumes. The translation of the last chapter of the 4th volume and the whole 5th volume was a complete mess... like if it had been translated with a machine or something. But that doesn't have anything to do with the story. XD

If you want to read a manhwa with a cute story and nice art then this might be your thing.

This is a relatively good shoujo story. The art is good, the plot is a bit cliché, but the outcome is entertaining and sweet. It was a bit exasperating (great understatement) that the fifth volume was so badly edited and translated, but I mostly had a good time reading 'My Girl'.
