The first few chapters are kinda happy go lucky, but as you get into the other volumes, a better more thrilling plot builds. Not going to give a lot of spoilers, but I just love this manga. Hopefully there will be more releases soon.
The MANGA is, hands down, shounen

Just finished the 4 volumes in one night and daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. Then I went to wiki and read a about it.
This is not shoujo, people.
Shoujo wont break your heart like this will
Its not tragedy but it has that element of shounen of being really unpredictably unexpected and not always in a good way but it can happen in no other way.
Shiiiiiiiit
Seriously.
The anime got nuthin on volumes 3-4...
The manga is a bit confusing around the first two or three chapters but everything after that is just pure awesome. It has humor and a touching romance so at first, it gives off the feel of shoujo...then the shounen suddenly kicks in. You don't notice at first because the supernatural element and the romance is weaved together so well, the first shock hits you like *BAM!* on the head in chapter 18.
If you're like me and can't help checking out spoilers because the scans just ain't coming fast enough (still HUGE THANKS TO THE SCANLATORS!!), don't read just yet until you finish the first four volumes. Your jaw will drop, you might end up like going "OMFRIGGINLSKDJFOWEFHN!!"
I have huge love for the anime and as other readers of the manga have recommended, watch the anime before you start reading if you want to enjoy the fluffy happiness of it all. The pacing of the manga is just superb and this author really knows how to pull the unexpected off. No typical love story here people! It seems like that at first but then the heroine totally blows your mind. This ain't no shoujo heroine.

At first I just read this manga because the clean drawing and the story is nice enough, but as the chapters go, I came to love this manga. The characters are interesting, the humor is just good, and the story its self is amazing. The far I go with this manga, the more I realize that the plot thickened. I don't really mind by the slow pace the author bring the characters and the story, but I do have problem with waiting the next chapter finish being scanlated (have to thank the group very much for scanlating this manga).

I could never imagine what was going on with the Mangaka while the second half was under process... but I know that this part of the manga gives off one particular feel to it : the pressure of accepting the ugly side of reality. Though I became depressed after reading the second half, I shall continue to look forward to the Mangaka's next move for the manga because I am a big fan of Miketsukami x Riricho. Ganbatte!

Really Good, way Different from the Anime Ending

I started this by watching the anime when it came out, it was so good that I made myself wait till this got completely scanlated and it was totally worth it.
Most of the Shounen anime that ends with the manga continuing, makes me curious how the story ends that's why I switch later to the manga. Lately the majority of Shounen that gets good anime adaptation and ends in cliffhanger, the rest of story goes to sh*t in the manga(like *cough* Naruto, Bleach *cough* for example but there are more).
So if you are worried that the manga might ruin the good expectations you have from the anime, you sure don't have to worry. The story diverges from the end of the anime and continues, in a subtle complex way so you'll definitely won't be disappointed by it. The only question you'll be asking at the end is, how come a mangaka sick in her last years of her life could wright/draw such a good manga and keep the story consistent and coherent from start to finish. It puts to shame all the other mangakas that started their mangas awesome and ruined them at the end for stupid reasons.

It has a little romance started, previous childhood friendships, and a really good looking Fox spirit guy. And I wish another group would pick it up and do some more. Dredshi said they would most likely not do more than the first chapter! That makes me sad......
The main girl character is pretty good so far. Shes independent and I like that!

I can't help it but, to me, the main characters' romance is somehow annoying and monopolizes the plot development. Sometimes it becomes excessive. I know this is a shoujo, but, to me, it'd be better not to draw upon their relationship that much, because secondary characters are one of the strong points of this story.
Besides, I'd really love the manga to go deeper into other characters personalities, and in their past, apart from the main characters'.
On the other side, I love the story: the demons, the misterious events that take place, and the dramatic plot twist in chapter 18.
I would prefer this manga not to focus so much on the main characters romance. However, I'll keep on reading. And I have to say, the anime is a really, really good adaption: the art, and the seiyuu are splendid.

i know it doesn't happen very often, but i liked the anime better, the art was EXCELLENT! really a fascinating thing to watch, and the story was really great with the just amount of deepness between the cover of a simply shoujo...
the speed of the story it's calm and i loved the warm feeling that gives u in general!
i love the fact that the author took the always female protagonist way of thinking "i wanna be saved by an army knight" and made her, by herself the saviour! the hero! not the lady on distress that always happens on fairy-tales!
and even though she herself KNEW she had problems and that she wasn't the perfect kind of person to save another, she still did it!
we (al the ladies in the world), i think we should use this example an made us ourself the "Knights" and stop thinking that someone has to come to save us! life is't like a fairytale and u can't just sit and wait for someone that comes along and fixes everything on our lifes! just like that!
Loved the plot! absolutely loved the story!!!

As someone who saw the anime first and then the manga, I thought the anime sometimes was too simple but still fun to watch, so then I decided to read the manga expecting the same but oh boy, so many interesting things happened, my mind was literally exploding while I kept reading more chapters, it even made me cry?!
Is it worth reading? Totally! The ending is so diffrent from what a person expects and really dissimilar from the animes ending, sadly I think the only problem with the manga was the lack of character development except from the two main characters, which doesn't ruin the story much, but makes you wanting more, but still as I said before, it's worth reading.
