Suwa is a male protagonist that I actually like... and though I've read many romance manga, trust me when I say... there are few male leads that one can claim to genuininely like.
Suwa, however, displays little of the typical chauvinistic, over-bearing attitude so many male leads possess. He respects Aikawa and looks out for her in a way that can only be termed as sweet. He's not a heartless playboy despite what the dialogue at the beginning of the story might lead you to think. In fact, after that first chapter, Suwa comes off as a rather guiless small-town boy. His struggle to resist falling in love is adorable and amusingly self-defeating considering how he can't even take his eyes off of her. I love that he blushes around her, trips over his words when speaking to her, floats around like a blissful idiot because she smiled at him, and gets baffled everytime he realizes how long he's been wondering and thinking about her... again.
Despite the sweet romance, however, this manga does have a very dark theme. Not at all suited for young children. At least 15yrs+ is my recommendation. But if you can handle the rough, traumatizing parts, the romance is very rewarding.
Is this manga addicting? Fascinating? Captivating? You bet!.... for me at least. If you like drama, sweet romance, and a serious, but heartfelt storyline... you should try this.
9/10 for now... we'll see if the upcoming chapters, when they come out, will live up to expectations...

As my title subjects, this manga is amazing. It's very dramatic and touching. Volume 2, where we learn more about Aikawa's history, brought a tear to my eye.
I'm loving it so far, and I can't wait for more.

A sad but a sweat love story nontheless.
*Hate that Kazuki b*tch"
I just hope it won't be short.. and won't have a sad end or something~.~
I usually like a little sadness in love stories but there are enough sad elements in this one as it is.
It became weaker through the end... And I didn't like that.

It's a really good series! The interactions between the characters are really well done too, and not all the charecters are "good" which makes for great plot movement and stuff like that. It's so sad but you hope that Aikawa can pull through it all. Really disturbing what happened to her...
The 'girlfriend' isn't really that ugly, she just has a bad personality and is easily jealous (and probably a bit psycho too). But she is someone who could definately exist in reality which is a tad scary...

I wouldn't compare it with girl saurus cause this has a more real feeling to it while girl saurus is pure comical release. Love it and I certainly don't see what's ugly bout the female lead.
Edit: Now that it has ended I can only praise this series. Most stories don't end like you want them to and this one isn't an exception but even with that I still don't hold anything against it and find it by far one of the better (short) romance series out there.
It was really nice to not see your typical romance protagonist and actually a very caring, supportive protagonist who goes for the traumatized heroine despite knowing her dark past.

Deep storyline and lovely charecters. The only bad thing about it is that the lead female charecter is really ugly (in my opinion). All the other girls look cute but she looks... weird and not lovable at all.

I like this one manga, mostly because it's very realistic and down-to-earth. With Akiawa's problem, it can happen to anyone. Unlike all the other manga's I've read so far, this one is pretty different. It's certainly not a good manga to read if you're looking for a happy ending. This one is very melodramatic, a very good one if you like Drama.

I found it uncompelling. How they do they expect you to have sympathy for the characters when they drop you in the deep end without giving you time to develop a liking towards them?
I know it's meant to be really " *GASP* that was shocking!" etc. but it just felt like I was reading a poor soap opera.
