Ishiyama High is a school populated entirely by delinquents, where nonstop violence and lawlessness are the norm. However, there is one universally acknowledged rule—don't cross first year student Tatsumi Oga, Ishiyama's most vicious fighter.
One day, Oga is by a riverbed when he encounters a man floating down the river. After being retrieved by Oga, the man splits down the middle to reveal a baby, which crawls onto Oga's back and immediately forms an attachment to him. Though he doesn't know it yet, this baby is named Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV, or "Baby Beel" for short—the son of ... More...

the story is a very good read. in terms of humor, i'd say it is the funniest manga i've ever read. the humor is so original and somehow, in a way, clever.
the art is ok. its quite the typical shounen. FIGHTS. yeah. the hero has massive strength capable of causing world war III. he wins all fights and blah blah blah.
don't expect much character development. the story may have a plot, but in terms of focus, i'd say the manga is more into the humor than the plot. i don't take that against the story though. the story can get serious at times but there are those moments when something extremely funny pops up and you cant stop laughing thinking how out of scene the dialogue is. its a good manga to read when you really want to laugh.

Hillarious!!! I've even clapped in front of the computer after a chapter, it's truly funny! I put great importance on romance, so that substracts from it a little bit, but the comedy more than makes up for it. I love how i have something to laugh about every week, just the best.
A Good Comedy Manga

I'm not a big fan of comedy in shounen mangas, since they all seem a bit stupid to me, but this series is an exception. I admit it has some stupid jokes sometimes, but the overall idea of the series is great! It's that kind of series that has some comic nonsense in it and it works!
It has some fights during the story and sometimes it gets really close to become a battle manga, but in the end, it proves to be like a parody of battle shounen titles.
The characters in this series are great! I think Furuichi is a piece of work! Even the boring ones have their moments, that can make almost everyone laugh!

This series is adorable and hilarious. I love how it manages to be genuinely exciting with all the action and brawling and demonic main plot whilst being light-hearted and really family-centric at its core. Beel and Oga make a wonderful and amusing father-son duo.

The concept was new to me when I first read it and the humour is still hilarious. There were brief moments where I thought the story was dragging on a tad and the few filler chaps frustrated me; but in the long run I absolutely love this series. I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this but I personally belief this series is far superior to Bleach and Naruto. These latter two bored me to death at around the same chapter release as Beelzebub is currently running at and I have had to put them on my hold list many times. However with Beelzebub I just eat up every chapter release as soon as it gets out. Heck I'm looking forward to the next release now!
EDIT: I'm sorry but for a while now I've become jaded to all the cliffhanger chapters from the numerous manga I'm reading. I know this is the standard system done by almost all non 4-koma manga, but I'm sick of it. Never feel satisfied with the single chapters released by publishers, almost always ending in frustrating cliffhangers. Probably since I began my history of reading manga with tankobons/completed series which I can blaze through and get the full experience in one sitting instead of getting it drip by drip. Beelzebub is getting the standard Shounen treatment and that just makes me tired of reading it.

If we are honest with ourselves we already knew it wasn't going any where

Of course it wasn't going anywhere. I mean, where could it possibly go? There is no world to explore, no significantly important mystery to solve, no viable directions that haven't already been done, and done better, to death. (Well, of course a shounen jump title wasn't gonna focus on child-rearing.) But most tell-tale is that the premise is based on a single shtick, albeit an interesting one. It should move on after the gag wears out, but where? Beelzebub ends up putting its hand in every cookie jar and suffers for it.
Pretty funny--

--but this series has a tendency to draw out plot lines later on. Originally, the main premise was about Oga, an evil monstrous freak of a delinquent, trying to ditch the kid and going through hell to do so. Now it is transitioning to Dragonball lvl up tendencies so expect more than a few cliffhangers with fights becoming longer than one chapter. The evil and sadistic nature of all the characters becomes deemphasized/toned down as well.
On the plus side, the humor is still consistent and the art has matured well over time.

A Parody of the Typical Jump Battle Manga

This manga is the opposite of a shounen battle manga. What do I mean? You know how shounen battle manga starts with a some pathetic guy who's special and through a series of lucky breaks becomes a bad ass - this series starts off with a badass who finds he's not badass enough.
You know how shounen battle mangas protagonists get beat down by someone random stronger than them and they spend 30 chapters powering up? This manga does it in 3 pages and gets back to what's important, the plot!
You know how when the protagonist is a super powered world destroying badass and then somehow struggles to beat down the boss he had trouble with and then even has trouble beating down the next boss's lackeys because he inexplicably doesn't use the new godlike power he has? There are multiple instances of 1 move battles because the protagonist is a god like badass, why the fuck should the mangacka waste ink drawing a battle scene?
You know how after 500 chapters you get sick of shounen battle mangas? This one is unfortunately starting to get there, but it is definitely an experience that's worth the ride and it is still worth reading after 130 chapters.
You tired of wimpy ass protagonists bawling about friendship and swooning helpless women falling at their feet? Then read this.

Some parts are really good. So good. And the beginning is hilarious.
But you can tell the mangaka is still a novice. He runs out, and doesn't know how to carry on the climax. He just writes the chapters week by week. You can tell when he feels it and when he doesn't. However, when he does, which is quite often, it's definitely awesome.

Beelzebub sticks with its genres. Though lately it is becoming like other shounen mangas.
It have great humour and raw action. It do looses its origanility through mid way.
Overall,I like it and reccomened it to you but dont expect it to be the best.
