Only good in the 1st 20 chapter or so

The first part of the manga was quite good, because of the survival element, but after that it was just boring, its lose all the survival element. While the character looks like want to live, their action sometimes show otherwise, they literary go to the center of the disaster just because one guy said so, and for some reason the rest follow. Not only they remove the survival they also added philosophy crap or what not, which raise another point if they can talk good about philosophy why all the character is so stupid by 20-30 chapter it was clear what is the cause yet it need another 50 chapter before anyone realize, and if you think thing would go better you guess wrong, it was a chore to read it until the end not only that the author also fail to gives satisfying ending.

The story are not the only thing that is wrong, in manga usually author will only draw some part let the reader brain make their character move, in Dragon Head the author literary draw frame by frame, making it the slowest fighting scene ever it feel like the entire thing run on slow motion.

I still don't understand why there's so many high rating for this manga, reading it was a chore, and the worse off all is my chore was not rewarded with proper ending.

this manga was not really bad, for some reason i read right though it(hehehe, couldnt stop). as people said, this manga was full with insanity, the ending doesnt really have a conclusion. and to make it worse, when i had finihs this manga, i was like "uhhhhh......., i need to go watch something happy and play some awsome soft techno." i.e yea i needed to remove his manga mandness.

Anyway if you like thing like the end of the world, Armageddon, insanity, humain true nature out of fear, chaos, madness, survivalist, all man for themself. well i definetly recomend this to you.

me i think i rather manga like zero no tsukaima, naruto, etc.... the insane stuff are once in while for me. so yeaaaaaaa

Oh i definitly recomend you watching the movie first before watching this manga, yes there is a movie on this so go watch it first (manga is alot better, but if you read the manga first u wont want to watch the movie after).

peace out -_o [---__---]

Ok, great series, i really enjoyed it (i'm a psychological/ horror/mystery fan). But the one that pains me a little is how the mangaka ended it, its like you should decide for your selves what is going to happen to Teru and Ako or imagine for your selves, kinda pisses me off it doesn't bring a real conclusion to it. But, besides all that, i loved the series, art was great story was awesome, it was fun seeing how they will survive every arc. What i'm trying to say is that its a good read.

I can't believe nobody mentioned the classic novel "Lord of the Flies". The manga and the novel are very similar in themes that it makes me think the manga is a ripoff. Well, i loved the novel, and i love the manga. I'm just sick of endings leaving you unsatisfied.

Don't judge it by just the first volume, there's so much more to this story.
It's like the kids are in a survival game, one obstacle after another.
Once you think they're safe, think again. Overall, a psychologial thriller you can't miss.
Each volume gets better.

...and that someone is me. I read a few volumes and just stopped. I found the story stagnant and the art unappealing. Usually, I'll tough it out with a manga until the end (no matter how dull it might be), just to see how it ends. But with this one... I frankly just didn't care what happened and found the simple act of reading it rather distasteful. Oh well. I wanted to like it, too... sad

Terrific story. Eerily relatable. Incredibly ATMOSPHERIC (a word that is very important here, please DO NOT read this during the day, you will cheat yourself from having the ultimate reading experience, read ONLY late at night). It is so dark and full of suspense throughout that I couldn't stop reading. At the end you get to decide the fate of the world and the characters which sounds like a bad thing but considering how everything turns out makes it all the more interesting. I absolutely consider it to be one of the best manga I've ever read.

And to think this came from the creator of Zashiki Onna. Bah.

I actually didn't like this at all. The first few volumes were slow, but I found myself wishing that I was still reading them. It wasn't that the story took a bad turn, it was just poorly executed.

-I didn't feel for the characters.
-The psychological aspect (which is always key in survival-themed stories) felt... uneducated. Many of the characters' reactions and thoughts seemed more surreal than anything.
-As previously mentioned, plot-twists were given away way too early.

It wasn't all bad, though. The Pit-part was awesome.

But in the end, that was the only part that excited me. If you're into survival, check out Metro Survive or Bio-meat: Nectar. Fujisawa Yuki is waaaaaaaaay better at realistic character-portrayals, and it's always fast-paced.

Not only is this good it's also the only manga out there that deals with survival during a natural disaster. I won't spoil the ending but it's not as simple as it sounds you have to read it to the end to piece together what really happened. The art is very nice especially the backgrounds and all the little details. I have to give praise to the art style of the author, it creates a horror atmosphere similar to Junji Ito. The middle volumes do get tedious to go through but the rest is worth it. Very recommended.
