At the start it wasn't so bad

When the manga took off, I kinda thought it's gonna be interesting. But after some time the whole plot just turns to be ridiculous. More so the last chapters. The main guy always runs somewhere off being all EMO and the whole tension is just too weird and unfitting. I guess ecchi concept and a story about manga creation just don't work that well together. Also it's kinda sad to me that Im Dal-young doesn't work on his other stuff, which I thought was better.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I wanted him to end up with the editor, to be honest. And that, hugely, positively affected my rating.

I read this a while ago, so I don't recall a lot of important details. Nevertheless, my primary complaints is that the plot pacing isn't as good it could have been, and I felt some characters and some fanservice were too unnecesary.

Sorry if this isn't really useful, but I can't stop myself from giving a good rating to a piece of entertaining based on the industry it uses to entertain. Also, if this argument doesn't convince you, you can always read the title of my review.

Im Dal Young's Coaching Clinic...

... are pretty much concludes everything about this comic. The artworks are typical (Even while he works with LOTS OF different artists), while the story are pretty much about either Dal Young opinion's about manga/manhwa or about how he do his works (Boobs, twisted characters, etc.), this one is pretty good if you want to be an insane (or dark-styled, to be precise) mangaka like him. So, 7.5 is enough for this one.

What's with all this ruckus?.. =__=

I simply like this manga, in my opinion it has not so original, but quite firm and addictive storyline, nice characters and cognizable Im Dal Young's style. I don't find it boring or bad-done, the title has it's own charm, and on top of that - yeah, it's about making manga, about something close to nowaday realities! ^__^ Maybe Im Dal Young tells us a story of his own manga-beginning, who knows... He-he... ))
I'd say it's like Bakuman and so on, but I didn't read Bakuman in the first place, so wonder they really are that similar...
So that's why I can't understand all this dull complaints - too many titles at the same time, no one finished yet (UxU is), boring storyline, old drawing... Man, there are just a bunch of fake complaints. There are not so many authors that can write something like an autobiography, especially painted in such dark colours (I have weird feeling that's what Koimoku about >_<).
Yeah, Im Dal Young, you're doing it right, keep going! wink

The Dark Side

Basically, this is the Dark Side version of Bakuman. Where in Bakuman, hard work and love of manga prevail over factory created works and other corrupt methods, this is basically the exact opposite. It's not even a good story. There are no redeeming qualities to this manga, boobs aside. If you want boobs, there are plenty of better manga out there.

I really like Im Dal Young's works. I have read Freezing, The legend of Maian, Zero, UxU, and Onihime VS. I must say, this is getting old. I write novels for a hobby so I understand the feeling a novelist has when they feel they have an idea worth an entire series. But their are limits to HOW MANY series you should be writing a one time. Eight Manga's all circulating at once is insane and quite frankly I don't feel like reading this one until the others are finished. I mean seriously, haaa

Anyone unfamilar with Im Dal Young's work by all means read and enjoy. The main character is pathetic right now but the mahwa usually turns it around and makes him cool. But be warned, this manga will take a VERY LONG TIME TO FINISH. Because when this manga's chapters reaches the half way point for him. The mahwa WILL start a new series. You have been warned.

The main character fails to stick to his morals and ends up being another cog in the machine. Seriously, why does the author take time off from other series in order to write this drivel?

IM Dal-Young is a Hwang Mi-Ri wannabe who can't even draw his own series who took the style of making a set of cookie-cutter characters and shuffles them up and places them in different similarly cookie-cutter situations based on a modified Twister wheel. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he uses other people's character styles, but he made a original set that he just re-uses. He's like a author version of those low-budget mmorpg game companies that just try to release as many as possible to make money without caring about how the fans feel. I doubt I'll pick up any new work from him unless I've read EVERY other manga out there, and I'll only finish the ones I've started cause I have a no-drop policy. -_-;

Im Dal-Young needs to focus.

He has too many incomplete series to wrap up, and starting a new series is just pissing of his dwindling fans as we wait for the next chapter of the other longer running stuff he's started and basically shelved. The fact that his characters and story/themes are very similar to each also make it hard for me to remain a fan.

Weak

at first it seemed "weak, but entertaining" but nearing the end of the first chapter you can see where the story is going a lightyear down the road. You've read one Im Dal-Young work you've read 'em all. The characters are attractive enough, if that's what you can call it, but when you take just a second to look at them... there's nothing there... just a barely-above-mediocre plot with shallow characters and a "Screw the story, She has XYZ Cup Rack!" rehashing.
