I thought the story was pretty good although their were a few times that the Riiko kinda annoyed me. I am an emotional person and this definetly had an ending that made me cry.

It is so sweet, I cried so much in the end, it was heartwrenching!

I never got to finish reading this when I was a teenager and I was feeling nostalgic. I looked this up online and I accidentally had the ending spoiled for me. This is one of the few cases where I'm glad the ending was spoiled as it saved me from continuing with it.

I think the author did a rushed job with this series. While keeping the same number of volumes, some of the irrelevant arcs could have been skipped. The series also does not focus at all on Night's near-human transformation. Also, there was no romantic progression between Night and Riiko. Riiko fell in love right away and stayed that way till the end. In such respect, the live action drama does a far better, might as well say an amazing job in overcoming these shortcomings. Riiko cannot accept Night because it's a robot and takes a while before accepting him only when she realizes that he has overcome his programmed self. Night, on the other hand, is always struggling to overcome his robotic nature to get close to Riiko. His struggle and eventual success in developing human ego, and his efforts to make Riiko happy are what's missing in the manga. In the end, it even makes Riiko lament that she should have been nicer to Night and understood his feelings sooner. All these events and progression makes the ending far more sadder than the manga. Of course the manga came first and the author didn't have this in mind, but if you watch the drama the manga just appears too bland.

One of the very first shoujo manga I everr read. Even bought the whole series. Yet I can't bring myself to read it again. Its definitely a one time manga for me and its mostly because of the ending, I don't think I can bring myself to read something so sad again. But other then that, it was a great story and it really hooked me to shoujo because before that I only read shonen didn't even know there was a girly type of manga. I give it two thumbs up!

I can't really say much about this since I haven't read the manga in a year or two (I'm forgetful). The art was nice, I loved Night; the girl is a bit annoying. The next door neighbor is my favorite; sucker for those. The whole dating-robot was...unusual for me, so that's a first.

After everything they've been through. The endnig just made me sad so I decided to not read the ending.

it was a different but cliched manga. the story was alright...up until the end...yeahh, that made me cry (x i really liked the ending. it was different than most shoujos. i don't remember if i liked the girl or not...i read it a while ago. but i didn't hate her...

honestly, i don't like any of yu watase's works..trust me i tried reading a lot of her works but they were ALL the same to me. Her characters all look the same and her works are boring.. I'd only read this manga if i was extremely bored and wanted to kill time

As much as i disliked this manga, i ironically liked the drama. Which proves that the plot was good enough, but just failed to impress me in the manga.
