My Final Opinion

Reborn is a fine example of what a mangaka can do when they they try and change the theme of the manga. Starting out as a comedy manga and turning it into an action manga is not a easy thing to do and usually fails. However this one is a great example of how it should be done. Sorry to see it end but glad that I had the honour of reading it.

its really great after the first 11 some volumes
i think it was because the manga was seriously about to be dropped and then "o shit! let's add a plot" so now its the best xD
its really underrated because of it though
if you're going to read it... skip a few volumes and when you get really in to it, read it again (well.. you'd get really bored tho)

Fun to read

When I first started reading this manga, I wasn't expecting much, a thinking it would just be a typical shounen. In fact, I was only reading it because it was recommended to me by a friend. I started reading it and was immediately sucked in by the unique ideas of the book such as the deathperation bullets. When the series changed tones, I missed the first arc, but enjoyed reading the more action-packed chapters too. Most of the characters were easy to love and the art is getting prettier and prettier each volume. Overall, I give it a ten because There was nothing in the manga that I didn't like

I definitely did not expect to like this. I tried to pick it up quite a few times, but always got bored, but this time, I persevered. After volume 8, this manga turns into a sort of addicting battle manga. I originally disliked Tsuna, since I generally resent main characters who are super weak, but he definitely grows stronger... albeit reallllllly slowly, lol. I recommend it! It has good fighting scenes, and awesome characters. The art is actually really good after the beginning, too! I don't think it's anything laudably original or anything, but it's definitely worth reading. biggrin

PLOT: the plot can be a "typical" shounen manga where it is repetitive at times but i still think that it's still awesome manga. i love all of it especially when things get serious but some characters can still throw some hilarious punch lines! biggrin
CHARACTERS: i love all of them [even the villains]. each character is unique from the others so you can practically distinguished them easily which always comes in handy!
the main protagonist, Tsuna might be weak at the start but i think he has developed his strength. it might be a slow development but it doesn't really matter! smile

I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ THIS ONE!! smile

I read the manga and watch the manga and i love both.

Characters awesome
Plot- can be repeative but it still cool and entertaining
After watching the fillers it can get kinda boring but the fight scenes are awesome! I would recommend it.

Can't get more mainstream than this

This is a mainstream shounen battle manga straight from the training books, with no new elements at all, not even trying to be original. A manga that is only created to generate profit by running as long as possible, clinging to it's life while repeating the same stuff over and over again.

It starts off as some silly comedy, then, at some point, it notices that it doesn't work anymore and turns into the most mainstream battle manga you could imagine because it simply goes into the endless powerup -> stronger enemies -> powerup -> stronger enemies -> powerup cycle.
And more than half of those powerups happen for some arbitrary reasons (aka plotarmor) without any form of training/buildup before.
There are quite a few plotholes, especially during the future arc.

As for characters, there's no deep character development, not even for the main character. It tries to make you believe there is, but when you look at it closer, there isn't.
One character (chrome) seems to be created to draw pity from the readers, I don't know what's 0supposed to be accomplished by this, but she exists only for the purpose to be possessed by the strongest character in the manga while fighting, she herself always gets overwhelmed. She had absolutely no connection to tsuna prior to being chosen as the mist guardian and now that the strongest character has his own body back she is even more useless.
Really don't get the author for treating the only interesting character in the manga like garbage.

Bottom line: it pulls of the shounen mainstream battle ok, else it wouldn't have run this long. But it should end soon if it wants to keep even a little bit of dignity.

I could say this is good or bad...
I didn't hate it or what...
I watch the anime and read the manga but didn't get my attention at all.
I only read the doujinshi anyway...
And i don't like the protagonist (tsuna) his personality kinda boring... Just like typical shonen manga
But i like him in DJ <3
(Altough D18 and XS more better)

I LOVED the school days arc. Idgaf what anyone else says-- even though the art wasn't the greatest at the time, I liked how ridiculous the stories were. Didn't like the arcs from TYL onwards.
It's a shame when good manga sinks into the "super seiyan phase" that 95% of every shounen is doomed to; in this phase, all they do for numerous chapters is supposedly grow stronger. It's annoying to have to read weeks of that because there isn't much action in it. Just upgrades on weapons, being beat up, patched up, find out that they have some super secret power they can unlock to defeat the enemy, and thrown back into the ring. This is just how every arc seems to be since they introduced Mukuro.

... Plus, those fangirls can be menacing. I'm glad I was able to pull myself out in time.
