what's wrong with hypnotism being involved in the plot anyway? of course, if you live under a rock you wouldnt know that hypnotism is REAL. well, not per se, but the soundwave part in it is proven real! it's called hypnosis therapy and it's bein used in medical science today. albeit not as hardcore as Rei's, the wrong kind of hypnotism/entrancement could still trigger or make a person snap and do weird shit especially if that person is emotionally disturbed. besides the whole process wasnt shown in the manga or how rei was able to manipulate people and how long it took for them to trust her. perhaps in the backstory shes just psyching people out, reverse psychology, brain entrainment, or whatever technique just like in the Cruel Intentions movie (sorry OT). also, it was said pretty clearly that hynotism is NOT magic/psychic, and that not all people can be influenced by it.

imho, the ending was really nice and i was at least thankful that nothing "supernatural" was in the plot. so it's still an intelligent thriller and not some unreal ghost story.

It's fun, no doubt

I found "Doubt" enjoyable, even though sometimes it's confusing because the physical similarity between two characters. I initially guessed which could be the Wolf, but when I spotted a vital clue in chapter 2, I changed my mind while hoping I'd be proven wrong. I wasn't, which was kind of disappointing. sad I was hoping a more complex yet still plausible twist. Perhaps it'll come.

Those comparisons of "Doubt" and movie "Saw" are silly and shallow. The "which one of us is the real killer?" mystery has been around for decades! The best and contemporary version is "Mafia" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(game), which was created in 1983. :/

I totally hate horror movies and such. But I like crime and mystery and stuff so I ended up reading it and whoa, even though I absolutely hate horror and stuff I couldn't stop reading, I had to know the rest. Though it kinda sucked since I guessed the right character that was the wolf from the start. I haven't seen Saw - and to be honest I don't want to either, horror movies give me traumas - but I read an article on wikipedia about it so I can see that the concept is the same, but I can't say it's quite similar. embarrassed This is a must to read though, no question about that :3

Doubt

So far (1-17) Doubt has been decent. I knew who the wolf was only a few chapters in. It seemed really obvious. The issue with this manga is that it tries so hard to throw you off the right track that it is easy to tell even in the light of all the evidence the main character keeps finding to suggest it was someone else. It seemed to me that the people playing the game all made really idiotic decisions that were usually backed up by senseless claims and that there would have been a very easy way to catch the wolf from the very beginning. In retrospect it seems like I really built myself up for a let down reading Dout. The the summary had me expecting something that would be akin to saw in a sense when it is only a half decent closed circle murder mystery with a few overly contrived twists. The use of the limited perspective of the main character was well done and probably the only reason I kept reading until this point. I'd consider Doubt only entry level as a horror manga.

Anyone who have seen any teen psychomurderer movie could have realized who the wolf was on chapter one, after that there were just a few interesting things to look up for, overall it was not that bad at least nice to read, artwork was average but fit the plot and scent.

That ending left me severely disappointed. Basically, start to end it's really good, but if you don't like open/bad endings you shouldn't read this.

I agreed with the review by wreckage. It started promising with potential to be a good story. However, after finishing chapter 19 (which is near the end now) I'm kinda disappointed. It all gets too typical toward the end, nothing new, impressive or even scary. I personally don't recommend this manga because it's not a memorial one, but you may try it if you have some time to kill though.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The twist about the real wolf, isn't even worth to be called "a twist", it just seems so obvious, unrelated and lame. And the reason behind all this arc is lame too. I went like "Oh no, same old crap again!" when I read chapter 19.
