TYPICAL SHOUJO
by rajin90

don't get carried by reviews here and ranking of this manga . WANNA READ IT?

FAST READER >> if you can complete all volumes in 2 hours >>> read it.
SLOW READER >> if you need 10-15 minutes for each chapter >>> and you enjoy the quotes/dialogues/art then don't try it ever wastage of time ONLY 1 TIME READ WORTH MANGA .

manga is full of cliches >> shoujo one's >> forced movement of story but author in each chapter >> nothing natural and characters are forced to perform idiotic actions.

too much predicable and characters bump into each other occasionally and then whole chapter of 25 pages is made. [forced movement of story] >>> story is quite repetitive

whole manga is dragged quite a lot >> story is really boring at times in almost every chapter.
whole volume >> whole chapter package >>> bad
but few pages in chapters or panels >>> are good
ART >> really good and very usual of a shoujo manga

CHARACTERS >> are assigned 1 or 2 jobs/work/activity YOSANO SUZUME protagonist though show various variant of human personality .

except SUZUMA CHAN >> you can count on MAMURA DAIKI KUN >> though he also has very limited development.

AUTHOR try to create SPICY CURRY in each chapter and this you can see by reading only 2 chapters >> try 66-67
complete made up situation >> fiction .

STORY CONCEPT was good but implementation was dreadful . i am surprised how come this series is such a hit in japan and among english audience. >>> well same is true with other idotic shoujo manga series too.

Decent...and that's it...//slapped/

Before anything else, I'd like to say that Hirunaka no Ryuusei is a good shoujo, so unlike 90% of the recent titles of the genre. Art was decent - a clean shoujo-ish style. The story pacing was decent. albeit a tad slow at times, Even though the overall story was not as original, it has been used pretty well.

So, in general, it IS a decent title, however...'Decent' is the only way I could describe it as a whole. This following paragraphs will be now my opinion on things, so no one's obligated to agree with me.

My major problem with this...was that it was...DECENT...and just that, decent. It didn't stand out for me, except for the fact that it's quite a lengthy series. I read a whole lot of positive reviews, and I'm very disappointed that it actually didn't reach my expectations. My manga preferences have skyrocketed lately, and sadly, this potentially great manga is a victim of my bias.

I love this one. I'm a sucker for unconventional heroines. Suzume manages to be level headed and a bit of a space case at the same time. She tries really hard, instead of just sitting around being passive. The fact that this is part of what Mamura likes about her makes me like him even more.

I like all of the characters. They're all flawed but sympathetic, and it makes me really care about them. (Also, I absolutely adore Tsuru and Kame's character designs.) Even the minor characters are interesting and well worth watching.

As for the love triangle, I'll be happy whoever ends up with Suzume. They're both really likable, and have good chemistry with her. I admit, though, that in more recent chapters, I've been rooting for Mamura in particular.

Simplistic, Decent

This is a pretty light read and overall a decent shoujo. Though, I don't think it's super extraordinary like some make it out as, despite liking it quite a bit myself. What makes this stand out at least enough to make it decent is its sensible realism and art style. Realism (in its basic concept) effects every part of the story, from how the plot goes to how the characters react. For example though there is a student-teacher relationship aspect, I feel it is done more tastefully than A LOT of other's I've seen or attempted to read. Additionally, the protagonist is very normal, sensible and down-to-earth in a pure kind of way. She's also draw very beautifully. And the male leads act a little more mature and rational. I also like them both (but maybe mamura more(?).

And finally, I find this a very simplistic read for two reasons, which is also partly why I don't find it going above and beyond. The plot is fairly simple and void of heavy or prolonged melodrama (sort of a good thing). And also by the fact that if I wanted to I could read most of the raws and I only know basic japanese from highschool a few years ago (LOL)... But maybe thats a plus if you want to read them and know a little japanese.

In all, it's good and I enjoy reading it. If you want a really great manga, mehh. If you want a nice high school shoujo I recommend it.

Nothing new is brought to the genre apart from the quite unorthodox main character, though I believe this uniqueness lies in the faces she makes. The deal-breaker for me was her jealousy towards a certain character. I can't stomach girls like this who act like that (sorry to be so vague). So, in conclusion, its a light, average, pretty manga when you want to waste some time.

I was finding a good josei manga until i saw this one. This is a shoujo but not very shoujo -like the rest of the shoujos and that's why i got hooked into this manga. Not a common story for a girl to fall in love with a sensei and not a very cutesy protagonist. I love how she is, kind of awkward, but not to cute. Hey TheDreamHare! I also love Horimiya! As much as this one! I got hooked that i finished the 53 chapters in one day even though I was sick! Really looking forward to new chapters!!!!!! Excited for moreeeee!! Still rooting for satsuki! GO satsuki! And I'm a big fan of yuyuka and his cute sempai!

I really love this manga! I ran across the series on tumblr and fell in love with the art right away!
The art is so whimsical. So typical shoujo yet not really. I love it.

What really got me captivated is the love triangle. Yes, yes, it might be typical shoujo plotline, but it really worked! I am on my hands and knees praying for new chapters right now. I'm addicted to this manga! I can't wait to see how the romance panned out.
There's one female protagonist, and 2 male protagonists. First male is her teacher (Satsuki). The second male is her first friend in Tokyo (Mamura).
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
In the first part (until like chapter 50), Satsuki seems to be "winning." But then something happened and Mamura seems to have a better and better chance.

I'm rooting for Mamura, haha. I didn't realize this is a popular ship until I read most of the comments on here. Haha!! I thought he was going to be the underdog, but I guess not. He is so shy but oh so sweet. I'm definitely squealing more for him. haha!!!

..just seeing appleorangehead's comment below, do you realize that Yosano is Suzume's surname? Yuyuka-chan's is Nekota.

I like this manga a lot and it seems to be one of the rare few where I don't think I'd be disappointed if she ended up with either of them. Though I'm still on team Shishio, but.. Mamura touches my heart. He is such a sweet guy and I love how both him and Suzume went through big character development. As for Yuyuka-chan....I like her! And the last chapter I have read (52) made me appreciate Togyuu too.

Usually, when I read this kind of shoujo manga I know who the girl ends up with even before finishing the manga. But with this one... I'm not reallly sure if it will be sensei or Mamura. I love both of them. Sensei is cute, handsome and not a bad guy. Mamura is cute too, attentive even when he doesn't have a chance (at least that's what it seems) with her... He loves her so much that's hard not liking him.
I really need more of this to know who would I pick <3

why all of you dont like sensei? i used to stan Mamura so hard. but reading your comments just made me switch sides and now im choosing Sensei for Suzume. im a sucker of underdogs you see. lol
what i really like about this manga is Suzume and Yosano's weird friendship. One of fave scene was the catfight scene. Mostly in shoujo mangas, girls tend to do the "behind your back evil scheming". (Though Yosano did done that) But in the bowling alley when both of the girls reached their limit, Suzume and Yosano just grabbed each other's hair, and have a go. That was refreshing for me.
