i'm looking for romance mangas were the couple get together early in the story, or at least not at the end, preferably NOT smut, as i want something with enfasis on the feelings rather then sex, and preferably with the guy as the protagonist. i know i'm asking for much, but please help me out...

Aishiteruze Baby is one that comes to mind, althought the manga is not really about the couple. Kare Kano is another if you look at the length of the series. Midnight Setretary also but the protagonist is female and there is a fair bit of sex. Oh and Hana Yori Dango, although once again the protagonist is female.

And thats all i can think of. 😕

Monkey High, B.O.D.Y., Kare First Love and Bokura Ga Ita all surprised me with how quickly the couples got together. It leaves enough space though, so you feel satisfied with their union instead of "oh that was kinda quick~" The lengths of these manga are good too.

Actually let me add Parfait Tic and Auto Focus to that list too. Not as early but still near the beginning. The sex is almost non existent in all these but it's slightly there/hinted. It's all about the romance. Hope this helps.

Koukou Debut( High School Debut)

Its a really good one. It shows you the building of the relationship, without having sex.

Hatsukare. The protagonist is the girl, though. Really cute manga.

Junai Tokkou Taichou!

I second Kare Kano since the story is told from both the guy and girl's point of view.

uhh... I guess Kiss Zekkou Kiss + The Sequel of it, the prequel isnt that long, and the sequel is just about their relationship pretty much. It's told from both perspectives.

Add Love Roma to your list. The art's quirky but it's better than shoujo style.

Nana for sure. The next two may not be exactly what you want as far the couples getting together (cuz its ups and downs the whole time) but you said you wanted emotions and these ones pulled at me:

Ichigo 100% and the anime for School Days

Ichigo no gakkou HIGHLY recommended. It's totally a relationship based on love.
