Quote from vinceasuma Quote from TofuQueen Quote from vinceasuma I believe that they were originally illegal because the huge egg and poultry industry in CA. A family of Ferrets can decimate a Chicken farm in a matter of days. Plus they breed like weasels and could overpopulate and destroy our delicate ecosystem. From what I read recently when one of my boys wanted a ferret, that's a fear/myth, because domesticated ferrets actually die pretty quickly out in the wild. Once people get that kind of idea, though, it's hard to fight it, esp. since some pets *do* cause trouble when they're released into the wild. Well, I don't know how accurate the fear is, but I do know that the poultry farmers lobbied against ferrets for that reason. It's sad and unfair because Frantic (my Ferret) was one of the smartest and most loyal pets I ever had. you could hide it..? Does that work in your house?
Quote from TofuQueen Quote from skittles I've always thought ferret was a wild animal... I didn't think it could be a pet =s There are wild ones, and domesticated ones, and they're quite different (from what I understand). All the ones sold as pets come from generations & generations of "farm" breeding, so they've lost a lot of the skills/instincts/whatever that would let them survive in the wild. ahh.. makes sense... Are the domestic ones smaller in size?

If you think ferrets a wild, you should see the domestic foxes they have in Russia. They have color patterns the same as dogs.
I post up more pet pics when I find them.

I had lots of pets in the past. But they always mysteriously ran away or I had to give them to someone 'coz of moving to other place. I had few cats, the last one was a total copy of Indreju's cat. Damn, they even behave the same way. I want a pet . Stupid dormitory & landlord, they don't allow any pets in here *sigh*

I heard there was a massive recall on Mamsmilk chow because it causes severe randomness and overzealous shenanigans in domestic Mams.
Wiat......you could just feed him SPAM!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Quote from Tsuska I got a pond and I got Fishes =P
(Which got eaten by birdies during winter when all the lilies shrunk TT_TT)
Now all the lilies are grown back and about to bloom (well not yet)...gotta buy some more fish...
You should get bigger fish, try some koi.

These are the ones I was talking about in the previous post.
Here's an example of pet Fennec foxes. You can also read up info on Wiki.

"for sale" is such a harsh word.... and look @ the asking price.
Their eyes are so pretty! Though I think I'd be sad to keep one as a pet

In my 22 years.. I've had dozens of pets.. ranging from ducks to alligators.. Currently though, I only have my 4 babies.. and those are 4 prue-blooded Alaskan Malamutes. There's Redemption (Remmy for short - though I'm still not quite sure how that came bout.. people just got lazy I guess), Chaos, Sin, and Jinx. Redemption is 2 years old.. and 135lbs of pure muscle and furriness.. Chaos will be 2 years soon at 120lbs.. Sin is a year old and 110 lbs.. and my youngest, Jinx, is 3 months and at 30 lbs.. They're a bunch of big, oversized attention/affection wh0ring fluff balls... and my gentle giants. I also have a 600 gallon saltwalter aquarium.. but.. most people could care less bout my fishies names.
