Ah, I can sympathize with how you feel. When you start collecting a series, you feel a need to continue collecting even when it spirals downhill because you need to have a complete series. Ah, the agonies of being a collector!

Finally! Someone who actually READ MY POST before posting.
I collected the entire series, when it was still good. I'm sure I represent only about 10-15% of people here who really bought the book.

I just had a coffee talk with another hardcore collector like myself. He also regret buying Naruto (and also Bleach and Detective Conan, thank God I managed to predict and avoid both from the start).

He said that the main reason why Naruto, sharing popularity with One Piece and Bleach, is because it is so easy to find the scanlation. The story itself, becomes less mattered. But I see some posters has mentioned it.

Anyway, I still beg to differ Naruto for being one of the better shounen manga. It is possible to make an enjoyable "ego-fighting power up" manga, like One Piece, Dragon Ball, Hajime no Ippo, Kotaro Makaritoru! L, Kotaro Makaritoru!, and Ashita no Joe. Those are few samples of great shounen, especially the last two. They are REALLY GOOD!. I advise you to read them as in, now!

Compared to them, Naruto has approximately the quality of garbage. To say Naruto it is good, just because it's a shounen is unreasonable. It is a shame how many shounen mangaka degraded the quality of their work, just to milk more money. Perhaps without the scanslation, Naruto would not get as much popularity, thus Kishimoto would not dragging the Sasuke BS. Ever think of that possibility?

PS: Comparing Naruto to Airgear is like comparing Miley Cyrus to Gita Gutawa.

And I hereby expressed my thank you to BakaSon, who flame me with every insults known to mankind. I printed your message, and it gave me and my friends a very enjoyable laugh which lasted for a decent amount of time. It really shows which one of us who really wasted his life on comic.

Edited for easier read.

Ahahaha... the awesome smell of a good burn! Completely, agree with you Hajime no Ippo is the same with One Piece it's actually funny! Ashita No Joe is a classic shounen so it should be a must read. Dragon Ball was a good one as well until the anime ruined it. Super Saiyan 4? WTF?? Goku can alraedy destroy a world in super saiyan ss4 is just taking it way too far!!

Really so scanalation is the only reason Naruto is still popular, then how would it still be going? Shonen jump decides which manga's to keep by reader submission cards yet I'm about 100% sure that people that only read the scanalations do not submit them now do they.So even without Scanalations it would be a popular manga because guess what, most readers in japan apperantly like it

To answer the first question, why the hell not? It takes two minutes -ten max if you want to really analize- to read a chapter and Naruto isn't that bad compared to other shitty manga I've read. bigrazz

Yes Naruto wasn't as good as it was before but sometimes Kishi-sensei does occasionally come up with good, interesting chapters. And I just want to see what happens in the end and move on. I've been reading Naruto for so long it's kind of har to stop the habit. It's not one of my faves but it is my first embarrassed

Look,
THAT IS YOUR OPINION. And like other people who liked the series,
THEY ARE ALSO ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION.

You seemed intelligent enough to realize this. Yet, you come in here, making a thread, just to insult Kishi while knowing that what you said is, again, just an opinion!

I wouldn't have mind a thread where you simply asked what fans still like about the series, but no, you just had to start off by calling Kishi a retard and preaching Naruto is trash! like the gospel. no

i stopped buy Naruto around volume 40, i can't handle to buy such things to waste my money anymore.. coz the manga lost its soul... dragging and hell, the naruto<3sasuke relationship.
i still read it online but i prefer to read it after it had more than 10 chapters released.
my calculation is that i read naruto once every 3 months.. or more.

**I really want to see the ending, naruto sasuke fight

some points that haters, like the threadstarter, want to think about:

reading a manga you dont like = stupidity
buying a manga you dont like = stupidity

someone reasoned out that he/she still buys the manga bcoz he/she had many volumes already and it would go to waste if he/she would stop. WTH? if you continue buying that manga you bash/hate then you would be wasting your money....well maybe that's your way of things....

and of course the oh so great critics....no matter what you say you cant change the fact that naruto is and will be one of the most popular shounen or manga in general....i think some of you read naruto just to bash every chapter that is released....if reading naruto would just displease you(knowing that naruto is a crappy manga) then why read? are you masochists or sumthing?

how much you hate, how much you let people know you hate, you cant accept the fact that you cant really drop the series because of some stupid reasoning that would suffice your pride

no matter what reason you point out on still continuing reading the series but hating it, you just look stupid...

so...
10or so years ago everyone hated on Naruto, bleach was awesome and noone gave a rats ass about that badly drawn piece of shit...named one pieace

then all of a sudden one pieace is gold...bleach sucks and naruto is ok

im confused
what am i supposed to hate today?
i guess we are back to naruto
does bleach still suck ? is one piece still the best thing ever?

i read naruto bcoz i think its ok-good...i like almost all of the side characters...i like naruto...i like the world of naruto...i would go so far as to say its the best out of the 3 big jump titles...but thats just me...

Everyone talks about how its gotten dragged on
the plot for what ever reason but so many mangas
do that and to talk down on naruto
take a look at ONE PIECE like dead
what the fuck happen there
there a manga that just been dragged on like sometimes in those chapters
i just dont even read the dialog cause it leads to nothing
alot of the time

I am sorry, but that question is pretty stupid. Even if you dislike the series, there are some of us that actually do enjoy it a lot.

The manga has started getting kind of boring lately imo. It's just too long none . Now Naruto keeps upgrading his techniques so they become bigger and bigger and bigger. The manga has degraded into a big Kamehameha free for all.

I liked Naruto since it's a shounen that doesn't entierly contain fight scenes like Bleach. Something very positive for a shounen imo. Even when I was in that shounen age I grew tired of following especially Bleach but also One Piece and Fairy Tail coz of all the fighting. It's like: wait a week, read the latest chapter but you already know nothing is gonna happen, they're just gonna do that anime fight shit. Totally lost interest in them, and that says a lot since I was a 12 yr old boy.

I guess some of my (and others in this thread) lack of interest for Naruto has to do with us growing up. I hardly read shoujos and shounens anymore. They were fun in the early teens but not anymore.

I suppose it's like narcotics. You know it's bad but you can't give it up. Since i only watched anime till ep 130 i kind of know. Through group teraphy and psychological help, i was able to let it go. This thread should be changed to offer help to those who wants to give up Naruto.

believe me, i keep asking myself that every week after reading the new chapter. but i agree with most everyone else here. its not the worst, but i think thats just because it had a very good beginning. it completely lost its plot a long time ago, and sometimes its hard to just get through the flimsy 18 pages. but naruto was my first manga, and i was obsessed with it and the anime for years. i just want to kno how it ends. and even tho i trash this manga all the time now, i kno that wen it does finally end, its going to b a bit sad cuz its been a weekly ritual for me for years. so, i will keep reading til the end, no matter wat kinda crap this dumbo puts into it.

It's not the worse I've read but to be honest, if I started reading this manga now I would drop it pretty quickly. I suppose I loved it once upon a time, I mean I trawled through over 100 filler episodes. I lost that love a long time ago. The fact that I'm not way behind on chapters is evident that I'm only rwading this out of obligation, after picking it up many years ago and persisting with it for so long, I would feel all that time was wasted if I don't at least finish it. Much like Inuyasha, which I also got bored of long before the ending, but continued to read. Some people, be they authors, film markers, mangaka, whatever, just don't know when to stop and ruin a good story in the process. It's the bane of ,my life!
