I used to paint my nails all the time. Tried every color except for orange.
It used to be a good way to kill time in class.
One time I tried the fake nails but that was a mistake and too much bother. Anyway, sometimes people think my real nails are fake when they're painted.
These days I just keep them natural and trimmed. I can't stand having long nails. They get in the way.

Mine are usually about a medium length (less than 1/2 inch up from fingertip). I occasionally polish them, but I always try to keep them at least buffed and even.

I had tried the regular length fake nails, but my nails were longer than them, so I tried the long ones. I wasn't able to do much with them on, so I took them off and never used them again.

none
Biting your nails is bad. XD
Urgh, I have nail polish on my toes right now. *wants to take it off but has no polish remover on me atm*

EDIT:
*cough* To be more on topic...
Well my family runs a nail salon so I've grown up around it...
I don't like getting my nails done. Just don't. ._. It's odd.

although i'm a guy, who cares....

my nails are as long as possible and as short as possible biggrin
when i cut my nails too short they prove to be not practical(I often get in situations where i have to use my nails)
but than again if they are too long the other people don't enjoy it when they came in contact with them becouse they are reather sharp and hard.

I love adding little jewels with my nails. One time, though, i tried these fake witch-like [& super long] nails, and i ended up not being able to do anything.I couldn't even scratch my head when it was itchy because i was afraid the nail would break off or come off or something. But now, i just use the fake nails close to my average nail size, and sometimes i wait for them to get really long and then go to a salon and design them there :]
i like it when nails are all pirtied up ^___^

i'm guy

i rarely clip my nails so they're pretty long, most people tell me my nails are too long for a guy, i find the length the most practical though

for girl's nails, i prefer just plain ones without paint or anything. length doesn't really matter but shouldn't be too long

I take almost no care of my nails. I just trim them from time to time.

I don't like fake nails on girls and I'm not overly fond of coloured nail polish either.

I like my nails polished and neat. I prefer polish even if it is clear because they protect my nail plate. They won't suffocate LOL. Nails dont have nerves (that is why they don't receive pain) or require oxygen ...though the cuticle needs proper care to maintain good hand health. The only 'alive' nail is under the skin in an area known as the "matrix". The matrix is very delicate. Under the plate, however is a highly sensitive, prone to infection area called the nail bed. The hard nail plate protects this area from infection, so it is actually important to keep nails clean and neat. Nail size ideally should cover the entirety of the nail bed to prevent exposure to potential bacterial infections (though I see MANY people with too short nails). And the matrix *just below the nail plate* is important for the development of the nail plate...

I suppose I should say nails ARE important and deserve some pampering...

i do remembering putting on that extra-long fake nails once for a special occasion and it was damn hard to do anything. i couldn't even button my skirt.

for my natural fingers, they are short at the moment since i began my nail-biting habit again because of the damn exams. >_> but before that i would paint my fingers my favorite color which is blood red of course. ^_^

I bite my nails, so they're short and ugly. I have better things to worry about than making them pretty. laugh

My toe nails on the other hand are never without color. I love painting them, er...weird fetish I guess.

I have quite long nails.
They've been hardened by work
and they won't break. They grow
pretty rapidly and I don't eat them,
so they are long most of the time.

Eating nails sends chills down my spine.

Eating nails is quite the nasty habit~
So many people here do that...
It's scary going to stores sometimes, since they all have those chewed fingers... >.<
And it's dirty~
I'm glad I never developed this habbit...

Anyways, mine are naturally small and, so even if I wanted to grow them it wouldn't look good.
Future profession and my piano hobby don't allow them to be long either.
But that's not a problem, since they don't break for being short.
So yay. :3

Oh, and for the threads other questions:
I seldom paint them (like twice a year if at all lol), and I don't put fakes on.

nail and agnail chewers push me to violent actions.
fortunately, I've got not so bad nail shape. don't care for them much. just cut them of when they grow too long. paint then when I feel like it. in brown, red, green. I like mat paint. but then they leave marks on paper when I erase something.
