Seriously, what do you people expect? Cross Days has been recently released. Go get it.

There should be no doubt that she is a girl. This isn't that kind of manga. Wrong style and magazine.

Agreed...

Well, it would definitely ruin the manga for me if Aikawa is a guy. I'm not really into Shounen-ai bigrazz

The flat-chested thing is kind of tricky... hermaphrodite, just a flat-chested girl or really a boy? I think he/she's indeed a flat-chested girl, of course this wouldn't explain why he/she pretends to be a guy oO ...

Well; i will say from my own experience; there is a mutant disease called Swyer syndrome like this; the person genotype is XY which is male however the expression is female due to the lacking of SRY on chromosome Y which will express to male. Therefor the person will has the body of female but since they dont secrete estrogen so they dont have breast or menstruate; also they wont able to have child.

O.o

I checked it out. Wow. That does explain it though, whether Aikawa is male or female, and it would certainly explain feminine characteristics. But I doubt the author even knows about the syndrome, and if she does, then I'm shocked. Only thing I wonder is whether he/she uses the stall or the urinal.......I'm sorry, waaay off topic.

Can't I say she/he's a bit of both? I mean, the explanation fits. Why not?

Lolz if she/he has both; it would be quite scary ; anyway i hope they support this manga; want to to know what will happen in the end.

@Fareki: uhm well if you read about the symdrome you see that she has to use the stall; it's quite sad for those with this syndrome; even though they has the female appearance; they can't have kid ( not even using Intrauterine insemination ) nor getting married cause they know that they are male

Pretty sure Aikawa's a guy. The story loses all conflict otherwise, and traps are pretty popular these days laugh

I am 90% sure it's Swyer syndrome as all the hints we have been given fits. How Aikawa looks and how 'he' can change with the girls without trouble. Nor would there be any reason for him to change with the girls if he was a normal guy, even if he wasn't straight. But the big hint is from the candy incident. Aikawa could literally take 'candy' (pills) to fully change into a girl as all that is missing is the boobs from an external view. It also fits with Aikawa insisting that 'she' is a he as that is what he is from a legal perspective.

I think Aikawa 95 % is male because it is already clear. At every chapter Aikawa always siad he is male, and from my point of view the author like to confuse us and give hint ( which also hope for the one want to hope) that Aikawa is female. PROBABLY roll eyes

We got another hint in chapter 14 in Aikawa asking about his preference in boob size.
There are some proverbs that fit here.

Once is nothing.
Twice is a coincidence.
Thrice is a conspiracy.

We are are at 5 or 6 now.

That Swyer Syndrome..is that the same thing Sadako has in the original "Ringu"? "She" was also genetically a male, but somehow had the body of a female..and couldn't have children. This makes me think that the girl in this manga has the same thing Sadako did. It fits. That..or "she/he's" a hermaphrodite.

He is a guy
Traps are getting popular now at days
If this ends like no bra I'm throwing a hiss fit
Also some magazines publish manga that aren't Thei style
It doesn't really matter what gender he is but I don't want him to be a girl because that would just be the authors cowardly way of avoiding using shounen ai

At first, I thought Aikawa is a girl who keeps thinking that she is Male. But nevertheless, Im hoping Aikawa is Female, hence the title "Prunus GIRL"
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
But then at the ending, the last/epilogue chapter title is "Prunus BOY", means I've been tricked and has been given these false hope all this time.

Haha, actually Aikawa already said that he is Male from the beginning of the class introduction. (chapter 1?) But so many don't believe him. Or at least heavily doubting.

Okay, just to stop the debate. The official gender is GUY/BOY. The mangaka said so himself. The mystery of aikawa's gender is for "entaateimento" (entertainment)

But shit! I continued reading this manga coz I really thought he was a girl —,— . Even though aikawa is saying it himself. I thought there must be a reason behind it. Coz I NEVER read yaoi or shounen ai.

Oh yeah, source is tankoubon

Yeah, same case with me. A glimpse of glimmering hope. eyes
But whats different is, I have read yaoi & shounen ai before.
BTW, because akimikage have read Prunus Girl, does it still count as "NEVER read yaoi or shounen ai"?
