speaks their thoughts out loud. Not where they literally speak their thoughts in front of the other characters (that's cute and all,) but I mean they speak their thoughts to the reader ^^ Exclusively and frequently, and not just the sarcastic patter you see occasionally, and then we're shut out completely. They don't have to be speaking directly to the reader in their thoughts (like they know we're there).

It's always interesting to see the contrast between what the character is saying and what they're thinking. But the character doesn't have to be a huge liar/living a double life or anything. In fact I don't think I like snobby characters, unless they're evil enough to justify it.

Discouraged combo:
Ecchi, school life, shoujo, drama
Ecchi, seinen, harem

Encouraged combo:
Josei, Comedy, School life
Shoujo, Comedy, Mystery, Romance

Hope you get where I'm going.

Shounen, mature, yaoi, shoujo ai all get the green light. smile wink grin

Saver
-- sword-wielding, strong herione. a travel to another world series. lots of action. and please don't judge it until u've read volume 2 cause she arrives in the other world starting then. and that's when all the great things begin!! also lots of bishies (even the bad guys *__* ) romance is subtle, especially in the beginning, but more later on.

and yes, she frequently speaks(thinks) out loud. she's stranded in an unknown world, so she does a lot of thinking. what she needs to do to go back, the ppl she meets on her journey, etc..

Thanks for the suggestion. I was going to read some of it yesterday, but got tied up. I'll let you know if I like it once I get to volume 2 biggrin

And wow~ People avoided my thread like the plague (I know thinking out loud can't be that uncommon, unless manga characters just don't think at all, look what you're saying guys! roll eyes )

The most obvious one to my mind is the anime of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi in which Kyon narrates. Good stuff though the timelime gets a bit screwed up(In the episodes and the series as a whole ^^)

Goth is also pretty good at that but only a volume long.

7 Seeds has that in some parts.

P.S. Dead Fantasy. Look it up.

I don't think narration is really what I'm looking for... sad At least, that's kind of brief, isn't it? In the anime it's usually at the beginning and not weaved through it "but I mean they speak their thoughts to the reader ^^ Exclusively and frequently, and not just the sarcastic patter you see occasionally, and then we're shut out completely."

7 seeds has a lot of different arcs and main characters, no constant spoken thoughts, definitely not what I'm looking for (though it is an amazing manga biggrin)

but the idea is there.

I've read the first chapter of Goth, and it's almost perfect to what I'm asking for (so far!) eyes If I could get more recommendations that have that sort of ''look into the protagonist's head'' theme, I'd appreciate it smile A lighter, longer series would be awesome! eek
