Hmm, yeah, I found another topic with the same thing but a lot of the replies were shoujo manga and not really what I want.

I'm looking for an action manga...either shounen or seinen where the hero in the end, DOESN'T win. Not a really bittersweet ending...but where the hero completely...loses.
Something like Death Note I suppose.

EDIT:
Well, my bad, I don't exactly mean action, though it is nice to have, I'm open to other genres. lol Doesn't have to be action as long as it's shounen/seinen. (:

Hard request... o-O Maybe Kare no Satsujin Keikaku or Uzumaki, although neither are really action. You could also try Neon Genesis Evangelion, the last movie.

Thanks. XD I'll check them out. And I wrote it wrong when I made this topic wrong last night. x__x I just prefer action, but non-action is fine too! (:

I agree with Uzumaki... :3 Lovely manga too <3~

I haven't really come across others... :/ Lost+Brain seems similar to Death Note (not sure about the outcome).

So you want to read a manga, where you know from the start that the hero doesn't win :S

Yeah, I'm reading Lost+Brain, it's really similar and it seems like it'll end the same way. lol

Thanks Revilenigma! I'll check those out!

@DExil: No, not exactly that. lol I just want the ending to be where they don't win. I don't really care how it gets to there. xD

You could say to an extent, something like Vampire Juujikai too.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Since he's the protagonist and he ends up dying.

Something like that. :3

Actually yeah, I'm also interested in this request since in 99% of manga ( yeah, I pulled the percentage out of my a**, but you get the meaning ) you know that the hero's going to win... It's refreshing to read something different, even when you know the hero fails, at least in my opinion...

Hmm, maybe Freesia? I'm not sure how it ends, but I get the feeling it ends badly, so...

The Devilman manga is a great example of this. Probably the harshest ending I've seen. The older generation of mangaka are evil..

Also Vinland Saga,
Spoiler (highlight to view)
the hero's objective for most of the manga has just failed massively,
but it's made pretty clear that was just a prologue.

The famous Berserk kill-em-all probably doesn't count either, as it's a flashback.

Also, Gyo, along the same lines as Uzumaki. Horror manga get away with it more, as it's kinda the point..

Duds Hunt (but the "hero" is an asshole, so it's kinda okay biggrin )
Zashiki Onna (short (1 Volume) horror story about a boy being stalked by a creepy girl)
