Hello, im looking for any manga where one of the main characters becomes handicapped (like blind, mute, para / quadriplegia, etc) deep into the story. NOT at the beginning (unless its a short manga, where the end is basically the beginning anyways)
soo like... if the manga is 20volumes long and they get handicapped on chapter 2, no thanks, but if they do on volume 10, thats perfect.
thank you~
edit: severe mental illness also counts i guess.... like psychosis... or some dissociative disorder, excluding something cliche like OH SPLIT PERSONALITY TIME!
edit2: ohh and also id prefer if they didnt like miraculously fix the problem (like, if the characters spine gets ripped out, id prefer the person to stay paralyzed)

Full Metal Alchemist
For something that's not manga, I rec the Little House on the Praire series. It's a light read and basically historical/slice of life/growing up story.
