According to a dictionary, this word is used in Australia and New Zealand, I wonder if it's true?

I'm a Brit though and it's pretty common where I live...

if you want to do it why not? missing 1 day isn't that bad.

Don't do it just because you want to follow your friend lead....
Skip school when there is a lot of teacher absent or when there is activity that is really boring.
Btw, I'm a nerd, so I don't skip.hehe... laugh

Wow, this has somehow turned into a very complicated thing. Just call in sick and do what you want for a day if you really want to try it. Just make sure you don't have tests or anything important going on.

Maybe, but if you've got no specific plans or reasons for it then all you're doing is wasting your parents money, your teachers lessons and your own time.

Yep that's true! It's common in Britain, I believe, but it depends on the area...

Just tell me what is your point of ditching. Are you guys going to the beach, have sex, disneyland, are you sick or what? Ask yourself what is so important that you would skip a day of school.

Once you hit college, professors don't give a damn if you show up or not. Therefore, it is your own decision.

I read this and thought you meant something else. "Skipping school" is not that big deal, especially after what I thought "wagging" meant...

i think if that skipping school is what that meant then you should say that since everybody who saw the post probably has some bad ideas about you now and probably think you have some homo tendencies but growing up i do not think that i knew many people that did not skip school. ah to be young again (now i am starting to feel old cry after being almost 10 years since i got kicked out of school).
