Basically, i´m looking for a story which takes place in Osaka or Kyoto in the modern times. Best thing would be an anime adaption were you can hear the accent. I don´t want field trips, but they should be the places were the main part of the story plays. For example Lovely Complex which is in Osaka and you can hear the kansai-ben when you watch the anime.
Thank you in advance

...if you actually want to familiarize yourself with kansai-ben (which, btw, is spoken outside of just Osaka and Kyoto- Kansai is a larger region than that) I recommend looking for dramas instead of anime. Unfortunately I can't suggest any myself, but I can promise you that the language would be far more genuine and less... oddly corrupted than anime speech tends to be.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

no, i´d count the accent as bonus. But i´ve rarely seen manga playing there so it be great to read some more. I´m actually not into Dorama

Probably the best suggestion would be Koume-chan ga Iku!! manga or anime, but I'm not aware of any english translation available for any of them.

Also, there is a "Kansai-ben" tag on anidb here it is: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=lexicon&vtype=tag &relid=541

There is also an "Osaka" tag, so try this too: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=lexicon&vtype=tag &relid=781

You can check out those series (put them in order of approval since I suppose the ones which got just one vote probably only have a side character speaking it). But be aware that there are good chances that there are just characters who speak it and story is not set there. Hope you can find something anyway. smile
