Man the Azumanga daioh anime is really great, when thy went driving with the teacher, for days i can't stop too laugh. Everyone suffered a mental breakdown, it's so funny.

Well, if you like Bokurano you should like Narutaru. By the same mangaka but a little less relevant: Wings of Vendemiaire, Hallucination from the Womb, and Zansho.

Milk Closet and Alien Nine should interest you - although the protagonist in both is a fairly whiny crying child, the situations they're in are very adult and messed up.
Battle Royale - maybe too old though?
Chairudo - maybe. They look like children but aren't.

Does it need to be the main subject of the manga? Fourteen has a group of (three-year-old) children that would qualify, towards the middle/end of the series...
