A Lollypop or a Bullet by miles. I can't think of anything close.

Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou

I won't spoil it much but let's just say its a really good tragedy spread over a long time.

Aria. The story itself isn't sad, but in the last volumes, I remember I cried a lot. And I still cry when I reread it. It's such a moving manga.

Enough people recommended Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan but oh well.
It wins the tragedy tag game and proves how much one can do in "only" 1 Volume.
Grant Morrison comic We3 comes the next closest to it. Poor doggies.
The ending of Kiseijuu got me right in the feels too.
Wolf Guy - Wolfen Crest though is one on the LOL worthiest mangas i have read. Read my comment-review to find out more about that misbegotten attempt at a dark reboot roll eyes .
The comments section and categories chosen are is just too precious and belong in a museum.
