Adekan
Donten ni Warau
Yae no Sakura
Peace Maker Kurogane

To be honest, I have never read those but you should try Shoukoku no Altair.

Embalming - The Another Tale of Frankenstein(historic fantasy) 8/10 and his Rurouni Kenshin(samurai) 10/10.
Blind Faith Descent(arabian-ish fantasy) 9/10 and Claymore 8,5/10(medieval-ish fantasy).
Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken(covers nearly everything) is overall a 7/10 franchise with Steel Ball Run 8/10 being the best. They all have romance but not as the main focus.
All are to the point action/adventure tales and very diverse.

Basilisk - a lot of supernatural elements, graphic/mature (not the biggest fan of this one) while it is labelled "romance" there really is no lovey dovey anything.
Vagabond - not sure if it has more supernatural elements, very graphic
Himegami - supernatural and "ecchi"

All twisting some part of Japan's history.

Kingdom -a war manga that has good use of martial arts
Ruler of the land - MC can learn martial art styles by just seeing them
Blood and Steel - a young matrial artist's journey to vengeance
Feng Shen Ji - Supernatural with Gods and other life forms

Romance if any is just a subplot and we'll done sometimes even makes the storit's more enjoyable

+1 to Vagabond, Vinland Saga, and Shin Angyo Onshi although the last leans more fantasy than historical imo.

Adding:
Shut Hell
Le Chevalier d'Éon
Samurai Deeper Kyo
