As the title says, I'm looking for a manga in which the main character(s) is/are stuck in another world.

Requirements:
-The "other world" has to be a completely different world from ours. No alternate reality/universe or historical, but more fantasy--monsters, kickass abilities, weird animals/plants, screwed up laws of physics/nature, or whatever else you can think of!
-Main character is not unreasonably wimp but not too OP either. Basically has to react to a new world like a reasonable normal person.
-Plot that actually goes somewhere. Not episodic.
-Character development.
-No ecchi, hentai, yaoi/yuri, shounen ai/shoujo ai or blatant fanservice (panty shots, big breasted females who have no purpose in the story, etc.)

Preferred:
-long and epic series
-lots of adventure
-regularly updated or completely scanlated
-if shoujo, no love triangles (unless it's actually not annoying)
-if shounen, limit the amount of "power of friendship saving the day" plot device or unrealistic power-ups

Red River - shojo. This is THE classic Japanese schoolgirl is sucked into another world. It's a magical version of historical Turkey.

Kanata Kara - shojo. another variation on that theme. Noteworthy because SHE ACTUALLY HAS TO LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE, something usually ignored or brushed off. It's not perfect but it fits the bill.

Saver - shojo. It starts off badly, but if you can get through the intro it does get better. In a twist, it's the girl who is the warrior of the story.

7 Seeds - josei. If you're willing to go really dark. It's about people waking up into a dystopian future world that is much less friendly.

There's actually a tag for "transported to another world" btw

and I have to mention InuYasha - shonen. Japanese schoolgirl travels to a fantasy version of feudal Japan, acknowledged as the reincarnation of a priestess, in a world of magic, demons etc. It's more episodic but it's really well known sooo...

I've actually had the first three series you mentioned on my wish list for a while now. I guess it's time to put them on my reading list!

And yeah, 7 Seeds is awesome. I'm reading it right now, and it's actually part of the reason I'm craving for more manga about crazy worlds!

I've watched InuYasha before, so I'm kind of looking for something I completely don't know about.
