Generally I'm trying to compile Manga or Anime (though I guess this is a Manga website after all) similar to for example Akatsuki no Yona, Reimei no Arcana (My personal favorite) or Joou no Hana. I like about those their political and historical setup, and the struggle and fight the protagonists go through. They all are quite intelligent, self-confident/independent and also I like how they all involve some romance and of course the drama/tragedy.
I also like stories like Arslan Senki (with a male leader) because in that case the romantic factor stays neutral or it can be interpreted. But for me the strong personality and/or (developing) fighting spirit and skill were lacking.
I also started watching(not reading)
Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii or Akagami no Shirayukihime but the comedy in the former seemed a little too much and so far I couldn't take both series all too serious(haven't yet finished, though!), which I prefer. But for more comedic anime/manga they aren't bad either.
Do you also enjoy these types of stories? And do know more of them? I'd really like to know, so pls share, if you like!

Chang Ge Xing is a manhua that is similar to Joou no Hana and Akatsuki no Yona. It is pretty serious (there is very little comedy) and has a slow developing romance. It's set in Tang dynasty era China (so it's a little later than Joou no Hana).

If you haven't watched or read Saiunkoku Monogatari, I would definitely recommend it. (The manga covers only the first arc, while the anime goes much further but doesn't adapt the entire light novel series either.) Also apparently The Twelve Kingdoms is also pretty good (though I haven't watched/read it yet).
And currently on hiatus but good enough to be noteworthy: Okoborehime to Entaku no Kishi
Seconding Chang Ge Xing.
If you want a politics-heavy historical manga and are fine with male leads, Shoukoku no Altair is really great in that regard.
