Seriously, is it me or are the Captains weak? o.O Or maybe when you gain Hollow powers you just get super strong? Since they're kind of in the process of becoming Vaizard, I think.

Maybe the next chapter will be the conclusion of this flashback arc?

Anyways, any thoughts? ;D

Urahara to the rescue~ (Damn, I should be repeating stuff for my exam, not read Bleach). Nice chapter, although Kubo could speed it up a bit and give us what we're waiting for - the answers. Since he only planned to go as far as 100, I think?

Yeah, I'm assuming he'll end the arc on -100, but you never know. If that's the case, the conclusion might feel a bit rushed... or the explanation of what happened to them might...

Anyway, I'm also in the "Urahara to the rescue~" group on this one. The captains don't seem that weak as far as I'm concerned, especially when you consider they've never faced vaizards before, or the hollow form of vaizards. And there's not that much of a change from when Byakuya faced Ichi's hollow, anyway. Plus they're being careful because they don't want to injure their friend, so they're not fighting at full strength/lethalness. Ergo, they're not that weak at all.

The captains are not weak, The hollow/shinigami are way more powerfull.
Its indeed like ichigo vs byakuya. Also when Shinji puts on his mask in karakura town he is damn powerfull.
I think it was machiro that stabbed Kensei he said you right?. Machiro's already changed from hollow to hollow mask form. Kensei is in his hollow form. The same thing happen with ichigo when he was training with the vaizards.

i imagine if the next is the last flashback, it will be a packed chapter x.X

I have to disagree with the weak captains comment. Remember, Ichigo beat both Ken-chan and Mr. I'm better then everyone without even using his mask, sure he had the element of surprise, but so do these Hollowified shinigami, plus they were trained in using their reiatsu where Ichigo, and tossed the strawberry around like a toy when they were training him to use his Mask. Also if you recall they had trouble handling Ichigo when they were making him one of them, mainly because they were trying not to kill him but that parallel hold to this situation as well. All in all I think they are so much weak as in an unknown situation and trying to regain their bearings rather that slaughtering wholesale and asking what the hell happend afterwards. I also think this will be their downfall, but hey they gotta become Vaizards somehow.

I don't think the Captains are weak, at all~ I just wanted to have a discussion. I know that they're not weak, but it's Kensei and Mashiro who have suddenly gotten a immense strength through this 'up-grade'. Now, all they need to do is control their Hollow self, and they'll become Vaizards~ Urahara will take care of that probably, while Tessai holds them captive. I figure he has much stronger binding spells than Hacchi, like the lvl. 99 one.

Also, I believe Tite won't explain everything perhaps in the flashback arc. Maybe he'll close this flashback leaving us for more. Wouldn't surprise me. ;P

I don't want it to end at chapter -100, but yes it's possible that tite will end the flashback arc at -100, but dang, where is the hougyoku, he can't just end this flashback arc without explaining that one. It's hougyoku that aizen wants and the vaizards know that aizen wants this thing which might be why the vaizards will be fighting aizen's troops. Well there is vengeance also, that is if it is Aizen who cause them to become hollows in the first place but we don't know yet. I'm also for "where is isshin" rant but i'm also dying to know how the hougyoku come about.

On other note, I was thinking it's not Mashiro who stabbed Kensei since Kensei left her sleeping in the tent when he was stabbed.Both Mashiro and Kensei are in their hollow masked form now, right? Or it's just me that say they both look the same. I still say that there is someone who stabbed them and back to my question in the previous chapter, why will the shinigami become a hollow if stabbed by normal shinigami, at the most they will be killed right and their soul disintegrate. Unless a hollow like the one who attacked Kaein dono sneaks in into the soul society and to use Spanky's words " slaughtered them wholesale"

I still think that urahara will aid them by making them a vaizard. The mention of the imprisonment of those shinigami who are threat to soul society got to be relevant and in turning into vaizards make these shinigami a threat, not that the hollows they have become now are not a threat, but then hollows are not imprisoned, they should be killed

i doubt -100 will be the last flashback. it seems that there's a lot more to be shown, that 1 chapter alone won't fit in, unless its some sort of special 2-3 chapters sized... err... chapter. otherwise, it'd all be too rushed of an action. and a rushed storyline is never a good idea.

taking into account that we need to see how all the vizards are formed (which may take up to another 1-2 chaps), creation of the hougyoku (1-2 chaps), a little look at urahara's more earlier (after) life (optional. maybe just a few pages), the identity of the culprits, a look at isshin, and urahara's exile, i say we got 7 more chapters, give or take around 3.

Kinda confusing at first then i got whats happening.

Although not quite has shocking as the last chapter but at least this chapter had more action in it. Theirs also probably going to be about maybe five or more chapters of Turn Back the Pendulum at least from my assumption.

i thought only urahara's hogokyou... could change shinigami into hollows, so how did aizen do it? does that mean ss blamed urahara for the transformations, and that why he got kicked out.

and why is tessi serving urahara now, when clearly he had an equal to higher rank than him in the past. im pretty sure they're going to get excommunicated after the rescue. so maybe tessi didn't have a choice.

I think tessi is not serving urahara per se, it's just that both of them do things together, one for all, all for one. During the Saving the Rukia arc, I don't think it was mentioned that Tessi is with urahara when urahara escaped with the aid of yoruichi, but maybe he was with urahara that time.

Hougyoku doesn't change one into a hollow, i think, since arrancars are originally hollows who became more powerful. Hougyoku would enable someone to become powerful compared to his original form, be it a hollow or a shinigami.

Urahara wasn't the only one trying to change shinigami into hollows, he was just the only one successful. It seems that Aizen has had some success, but nothing that can be truly be considered what we know as an Arrancar or Vaizard.



I think menos grande, not arrancar, when referring to "hollows who become more powerful." The only solid information we have so far on the Hougyoku is that it is able to cross the barrier that seperates hollows and shinigami. The exact specifics of this remain to be revealed, such as how exactly it is done.
