Read like a comic strip

I did like the opening volumes, a very creative and original idea with one hell of a freaky girl and four nosebleed-inducing hot guys. I mean, she's so dark, she can blow out lightbulbs. Yeah, so she's supposed to transform into an enchanting lady of sorts (else Sunako's aunt will take the guy's heads)...but that's where the whole thing goes wrong. I get the fact that she won't turn into a lady overnight but atleast she should make an attempt! There are points when you feel the story is progressing and something exciting is happening but then...it all goes back to square one (I'm not even going to start on chapter 87). The concept is good but its like a comic strip, once you've familiarised yourself with the characters, you may pick up any random volume and read it, the basic idea still remains the same.
The characters are good, Sunako being my favorite, female protagonist with a backbone and kickass fighting skills. Kyohei maybe the hottest but has the disposition of kid, and annoys me a lot of times. But I'm still holding out waiting for it to get better!
Read if you want a break from your usual genre for this one is certainly unique.

I actually like the beginning of the manga (though the first volume was so hard for me to get through, too much was condensed on each page), its really interesting. Its absolutely hilarious, and each chapter I read leaves me at least giggling, though most have me LOLing all over the place, frightening my parents.
I was never a fan of the artwork though, because of the constant use of chibis, lack of background, and even when everyone is drawn cleary, I don't like the art. Not only that, but recently, the manga is turning into a 'filler fest'. Nothing happening, or changing, just going, and with mostly the same jokes, thus less impact.
Obviously, its a good story, but the author is running out of ideas, and it needs to move along, or be put out of its misery before it falls anymore (perferably not this, I hate rushed endings).
Not much of a romance either, but I don't mind, since Sunako and Kyohei don't seem like the lovey-dovey type in the first place. Its there, and you can tell. I do hope it ends with a bit more though, with at least them acknowledging it.

I want more romance

I really like it, but lately I cant be bothered reading it.
I'm sorry, but I am a fool for romance, and I saw that this was a SHOUJO + ROMANCE manga, but its got SOOOOO little romance that I think the description is misleading.
This really is a good series, hilarious, but I wish that chibi sunako would appear less, and we can see the real sunako more. I just think her progress on becomming a lady is too pro-longed. I'm on volume 10 and still NADA, ZILCH, if it continues like this I really wonder if its worth reading.
I WANT MORE ROMANCE.
but I guess its a good comedy.

rating 7/10

This manga keeps me entertained for hours! The characters are so loveable, the art is great, and the storyline is pretty unique. The art scared me away from buying it at first, but I bought two books of it while on vacation and I became ADDICTED to it. I realized that the art was actually really good..it was different that most manga styles. Sunako is a very unique heroine. She's a dark person and even though she's pretty, she does have her ugly moments, like everyone else. Sunako and Kyohei are sooo perfect for each other! =D The author's little comments about her favorite J-rock and J-pop artists are really funny. ^^
I recommend this manga to anyone who loves to laugh!

Amusing, but now it's just dragging

This manga is hilarious. It's very entertaining, although I must say that the art is not the greatest. In fact, the art is just down right annoying. If it weren't for how humorous this manga is, I would never be able to get past the art. This manga started out really good but then it just kept on going and going and going and it's still going. Honestly, at this point I just want to see Sunako end up with Kyohei. I know Sunako is supposed to be extremely unlady like and super dense, but still, after 112 chapters, I think she should realize by now that Kyohei likes her and she likes him.

This manga is amazing. it makes me laugh all the time (: i've seen both the anime & drama and i love them both too biggrin only thing is, i've seen better art...but overall, i love this manga biggrin

**Edit** So, this is really dragging on...I still love it and all that, but it's going no where...it's totally strayed from the original plot...she's still nowhere NEAR becoming a lady

I LOVE this series. I've read tons of shoujo and I'm quite tired of the usual cliches. This manga, however, has NONE of those. smile It's original and unique. Even the art style is. My only complaint would be the use of patterned furs. (blech) I love the characters as well. Sunako is crazy and awesome. She's her own person and very independent. Not at all like other shoujo heroines. I hate the ones who are clingy and break down into tears every godforsaken chapter. She doesn't loathe her faults and complain about her looks. I don't mind the slow romance. I live for stories like this. If you've ever read Skip Beat or Hana Kimi, you'll know the romance was slow in those but they're both AMAZING mangas. Also, Sunako is a little like Kyouko. She had her heart broken and is terrified of falling in love again. It's very funny and totally worth giving a chance. smile

fun

I like this manga. It's fun and harmless. Yes, the plot development is extremely slow, and at times even takes steps backwards, but I still enjoy it. What I love best about it is Sunako; she's just weird and eccentric but in my opinion the funniest one of the group. I also enjoy the episodic nature of it. It allows there to be long gaps in chapter releases without you needing to refresh much of your memory. My biggest complaint is the fact that all four of the male leads, while their faces are quite lovely, their bodies look underweight to the point of anorexia. Seriously. It pains me to look at them.

EDIT: Ok. It's been a while since I wrote that, and now the manga is not so fun anymore. It's long and it's been dragging on for several volumes now. Nothing has developed either. Sure there have been tiny moments of development here and there but they are immediately forgotten when the next chapter arrives. Basically this manga is super fun in the beginning, but loses that charm later on. I hope it ends soon.

repetitive

This is another comedy that starts out great but never goes anywhere. The jokes keep repeating and the relationships move at a snail's pace. Since the story only involves a handful of characters, the repetition is really apparent and gets old really fast.

Instead of telling meaningless events, this comedy tells several events where the reclusive girl makes major progress that's just erased at the end of the event. After awhile, I got really tired of the resetting and stopped reading because it was clear that the author didn't want the story to go anywhere.

You'll probably like this manga if you don't hate repetition, but I enjoy comedies that move a long and come up with new jokes.

I really loved anime version. And I heard that manga is much better than anime, so I read it...
It has very fun moments, but... yosh, it was so lenghty! No, I don't like series girl-and-boy-fall-in-love-and-start-dating-in-three-chapters. But.. it is much.
However, I still like it.
