The story starts typical - A lost Princess that is trying to gain her title back and she is involved in a love triangle. At first, I thought it'd be an innocent story, but later it is quite mature. Anyways, the atmosphere is really beautiful, although the artwork did not satisfied me in some points. I have to admit though, that the outfits are drawn with details.
Now, Zi Li started as a very annoying character. She would cast actions without any actual thinking of the consequences. At least towards the end, she becomes a bit more mature. I did not mind any of the other characters.
Nevertheless, it is a great read - Perhaps not the most original story, but very worthy.

I would have given this a 10 if it's not because of the heroine. Gaaaaah!! She's so rude and rash! At the first volume she would throw away stuffs to others, I felt so bad for Zhong Lu having to take care of that idiotic princess. Then she would get REALLY stupid (minor spoiler alert) for believing that woman's word. I just want to give her a good smack on the head! Geez.. Over all, it's a quite good romance story, nice art also. If you like historic romance story you should give this a try

the story and plot is very average. drawings are not that bad, they look pretty normal and the clothing is detailed.
the mangaka handled the last volume the best in the entire series. i was getting pretty annoyed with the heroine at the beginning. why do they make it such a cliche that smart strong men always fall for the dumb ditzy girl?
well at least the heroines character changed a bit otherwise i wouldn't have been able to tolerate the manga. seriously, at the beginning shes so stupid! she judges others. she does the most idiotic and rash things that one can imagine. and shes always crying, always causing trouble and has no common sense.
(-____-"""")...im sorry to offend people that love this heroine, but to others that cant stand such whiny characters, this is just a heads up.
sigh...is it so much to ask for a strong (mentally or physically) heroine that can take care of herself...! *grumbles* why is it always protrayed that women 'need' to be protected. sure, love is about protection but they make it seem like the guy falls for her because shes so weak, cute and naive....

The plot is alright. In terms of pacing, it was done just right to keep the story moving forward. Events flowed together smoothly and there were no plot holes. The story had a sound ending with everything resolved. Overall, a solid story that was intriguing enough to be worthy of my time. It's nothing spectacular, but for sure above average.
For the characters, there was plenty of character development, especially for the main characters.
I also didn't find the female main character that annoying - she acted the way she did because she didn't know what the reader knew about the situation. She's also the type to apologize when she's in the wrong, so she's not that bad. It was more frustrating to see the decisions she made towards the end of the story, actually. In addition, I would like to see Tang Hui and Zi Li as a couple. Though the guy she ended up with really loves her, I didn't like his relationship with Dai Xuan in the beginning.
If you dislike the heroine in this manhua because you find her annoying and weak, then you might want to read Chang Ge Xing (a.k.a. Choukakou) because the heroine is definitely NOT weak!

I think the art is pretty good; though some of it looks like it was rushed when drawing. I also really like the character growth in this. The main character Zi Li starts off as an immature person, but gradually matures. The plot is smooth, but the emperor annoyed me. But that's how his character is designed, I guess...but other than that, this is one of my favorites ;3

It's a cute story. The drama is nice, if you like the manga's that involve cases with identity, then you will like this one as well. Although, I didn't like the person she ended up with, I the first one lolz.
depth.

the depth and relationships really got me.. the lady that tried to kill Zi Li with scissors really got to me, I didn't want her to die somehow.. I'm silly like that.
Overall good read, in the beginning I found the manga tedious, but later on, it seemed to take on another life of it's own that I absolutely needed to follow.

the story started out okay, introducing the wild peasant girl, and all. then, the story gets better. the last 2 volumes was especially touching, and it has a good ending. the author did a very good job in unfolding the plot of the story.
just like elianthos said, the characters have depth and clothes are nice xD! like, although the emperor (princess' brother) seem cruel, he has his own reasons, etc.
Overall, its a very interesting story and nice ending, definitely a good read !!
i'm giving it a ten, so that Real Fake Princess have a better rating. after all, the author did a very good job in writing a 5 volume series, and even made me choke near the ending (emperor & his sister meeting) , and the so-thought-ending. its hard to not reveal any spoilers, so try it out anyway!

Nice pseudo-historical drama, lovely costumes and buildings of the Chinese Song dinasty age.
It starts a bit typical - with the triangle between the female lead, the calm elder-brother type, and the dark-haired playboy - and it's bit fast in the 'budding feelings' department at first. However, the pace gets better along the way, the dynamics as a whole are believanle, reasonable and likeable. The characters (basically everyone) easily grow on you and show some unespected -but welcomed- development. Both the good guys and the 'baddies' have some depth and are relatively realistic.
It has an actual plot, moreover some of the plot-twists (and cliffhangers) are handled very cleverly and are REALLY suspenceful, especially in the last two volumes.
In conclusion: a nice reading and quite the page-turner, with good characters, love and blood ties, honour, revenge, loyalty and a bit of politics. I'm lowering the mark a little because In some panels facial features are a bit off sometimes, although they're still pleasant.
Thanks to VK for picking up this project, hence allowing us to read it till the end

It was ok for me, but I did really love the clothes, though.
In terms of romance and who-gets-who, it was very predictable. I think that if the ending had happened...as originally planned (can't put it another way without spoiling it) it would have been deep and memorable, but as it was, I felt it was way too unrealistic and forced.
The relationships between Tang Hui and Zi Li, and especially the emperor and Zi Li (although it was very short _ _) really got me. The sensitive meeting between Zi Li and the emperor was my favorite scene, and the highlight of the series, IMO.
The plot was interesting, it could have been more developed, but in a span of five volumes, I think the author did a good job with it. And on a side note, I prefer the Tang Hui-Zi Li coupling more =]
Overall, read it if you have nothing else to do (like me =.=;) and are in the mood of fluffy little romance that isn't completely devoid of a plot. The art can be a little funky sometimes - the females are drawn better than the males. I like my sexy bishies, so it bothered me a bit, but whatever, it may not bother you. The series is not gonna stick in my head or anything, so I'll give it a 6.
