Let me start out by saying that this is really good, but I would hold off on reading it until it has atleast 10 chapters. Very good start to story, but also very sad. Prepare for tears.

Like no joke I can barely find something to criticize it the characters 10/10. The art 10/10. The story 10/10 ! I truly hope it continues this trends one of my favorites

There have been so many emotional scenes and God I love this protagonist. She's been through so much shit but she still gets shit done.

This webtoon is the best example of how a powerful narrative can perfectly build the mood without breaking the point of view. The way Ebony contemplates her fate and the way she convinces herself to make decisions seems full of considerations. I've always liked original webtoons without being wordy about taking adaptations from a fanfic-level novel. It's really hard. Therefore the skill shown by this author is extraordinary even at her speed, I'm sure that I will continue to be satisfied even if the long process is made into many arcs or seasons. Ebony is that masterpiece.

Back to the story, Ebony becomes a figure of how a woman whose self-esteem has fallen, is willing to fight for her right to life for crimes she never committed. The character development is great and you personally feel you truly appreciate the process, then romance. I have a soft spot on a relationship between the master and the servant, but Duke Schneider's attitude as a guardian is aware of that limitation. A distance, an honor exists. They need each other. Their chemistry runs without drama above covenants. How Ebony approaches her growing feelings for Duke Schneider is sincere, same goes to Duke himself. You get the serious part when it's needed, its romantic subtleness at the right moment without rushing it until you're addicted to asking for more doesn't upset the balance. Ebony is a mature woman and Duke is a man who sticks to his acts and words. Their combination in solving problems is attractive without generating unhealthy gossip. You know like a circus master and a shrewd thief? They come in the name of social justice!

The first season is full of legal talk and incredible transformation. I absolutely can't wait what kind of surprises Ebony will show to us. I seriously truly love this webtoon with all my heart.

It's rare to find a series that moves people these days...I genuinely felt for the female lead, Ebony. There were times where you're sad for her, frustrated for her, happy for her, etc. Honestly, it was so refreshing to read. Both leads are very level headed...they don't make rash decisions and the plot is WRITTEN SO WELL.

I thought it would play out with another damsel in distress and some cliche royal/noble man swooping in to save the day, and I was ready to roll my eyes, but boy was I wrong! You can see Ebony gain confidence, grow and build real friendships. I love that there's a crime solving/mystery subplot to this. I'm also glad the romance budding was done organically and not something that took over the plot - it stayed more in the background for a big chunk of the first arc.

There's so much potential and I'm excited to see where this leads. Big questions are: why did Dante, the archduke, become her guardian/benefactor? Was it as simple as he made it out to be? Seems like he has bigger plans for her...and

I totally recommend it! It's a gem.

P.S. it starts to get really good around chapter 40 and on, so buckle up!

A good josei. The characters are pretty mature and the main theme of "falling in love but this guy was at first my caretaker / this woman was originally my ward" lends itself to an interesting dynamic that's explored well. It's not exactly like they're father and daughter, but he is the one that teaches her everything and fosters an environment that allows her to spread her wings, and in that sense the power dynamic between the two is skewed, and both recognize that.

The biggest theme is of growth, as we see Evony grow into someone independent and intelligent given the space to grow. Like it would be in reality, she doesn't do it alone and the cast of side characters is also well done and I look forward to the side romances and the future alliances.

On the flip side, the male lead doesn't play as big of a part but is a constant reliable supporter for Evony, and while very talented is shown to have his own faults. One of the things that really sticks with me is how he doesn't spoon-feed Evony and take care of everything for her himself, and will purposely leave her alone to solve her own problems, except for some advice here and there and helping when she asks. The respect he has for her is amazing and really helps make for a great relationship.

I'd say this story does a good job of keeping situations realistic, even though ofc it's fantasy fiction. It's because both main characters are level-headed while figuring out how to overcome challenging situations that this story is fun to read. The art is also nice, so nothing but good stuff to say about this story.

Fuchsia isn't time skip, the first season of ebony already ended in march. Apparently the second season is already started, considering rawdevart up the raw chapter 42.


This webtoon is have a great story. I love how the archduke guiding ebony to have more self confidence and become the revolutionary figure for all woman in the kingdom. It's truly moved me how big the changes in ebony from the self-blamed and shaming herself to more confidence and charming young lady.

I LOVED this and recommended it to everyone I knew...until about this chapter. Ebony gradually turned into a Disney Princess. The direct evolution of which is now an All Forgiving Mother Theresa (who isn't without her own fucked up beliefs and actions when she was alive) who's suddenly able to EXACTLY explain how another person feels and acts. What this person's trauma is and how she thinks the Power of Friendship™ will save this person.

Yeah. No. I'm disappointed in where this arc has taken Ebony's character. She's so forgiving, so "gentle", so caring and kind and blah, blah, blah. She's not a doormat, she's a handkerchief at this point. At least in this respect.

Just ugh.

Actually i love the story so much!

I've read until ch 40 (season 1) and I've said this is the best isekai manhwa I've read. It's unique because the theme of this mahwa is woman emancipation that's quite rare to see. The MC ebony is a strong, independent, intelligent and interesting woman. She got really great character development from gloomy girl into pleasing girl. The ML archduke is great too. The romance is slow but addicting. You must read it
