what can I say that hasn't already been said... the art is unique, and I simply love it. the characters are fun to watch and the story arcs are entertaining, containing both humor and deep emotional situations and events. and to top it all off, it's got some of the most awsome fight scenes i've ever seen. if you like the shounen action genre, you must read this!

Never before do I award a manga a rating of 10/10, believe me..
In this manga you could find all you ever wanted in a shonen manga (and more!). Comedy, action, artwork, great storyline, great character development, which a touch of drama that would draw female readers alike..
I think this manga has the best storyline ever, and though the artwork would not be graded 10/10 for some people, you have to appreciate the fact that Odacchi-sensei did improve a lot from his early days, and that it is unique in its own way! Apart from that, the development in the characters just support the great storyline even more, lots of surprise element and suspense are in the story as well, you would find yourself amused and entertained along the way, and that, has not include the great comedy inside!
And if that all still has not convinced you to try out this manga, I can assure you with my 15-years-of-reading-mangas experience (more than 300 titles or so), that this, by far, really is the BEST manga ever!
And for those who gave bad review for this manga, please go back and read at least 3 volumes or so (actually one volume would do, but then you would not think of this as the best manga yet if you only read one), and see if you are not hooked up by this manga!

This is my fav series by far. Trust me... I read alot of manga so this is a huge compliment.

This is good sj manga, but I kinda expect the same person writing the last comments. But idc. I love the style in this one, however people would find the style easely annoying if they don't read manga.

Oda is a genius

Well, like everybody else (except for like 4 out of 60 reviewers) I think this is one of the best mangas ever written and probably the best one being serialized at this time. Oda's unique artwork is gorgeous once we get out of the first couple of volumes (because the scans are terrible quality that would make Van Gogh's works look like spilt paint, and if you are reading the Viz version then i have nothing to say to you) and the plot never failes to captivate. There is literally no *rolling eyes* scenes in the world of One Piece. Heck, you might stare at a page for 3 minutes straight in awe.

And to the poor schmuck who said it is just a bunch of fruit freaks duking it out, I find it hard to believe that you have read any more than half a volume of this series and didn't pull the rest of the plot off a "Kid's Review" of the Viz version on Amazon. You are really missing out if you go into this series with a bias towards anything but the norm like he apparently did. It is one of the rare mangas that are truly unique and non-cliche...it will blow you away.
