Disappointing, though decent

Great premise, less-than-stellar execution.

The art's fine, but the lack of character direction really took away from my enjoyment. Other comments say that Alisa is a strong heroine, but she wavers between ditz and insanity for me (there's nothing wrong with that, but Seol Hui lacks precision in her personality), and seems rather broken overall. The impassioned statements she makes when she shows her darker side are repetitive and self-righteous. They lack power and fall flat.

The supporting characters are also simple. Marcus has simple thoughts, despite being a celebrity. The villain is not worthy of even being called a villain- she's not crafty, just transparent.

The pacing, too, was awkward, as it drifts from event to event. There's definitely a lot of mystery there, but that's not necessarily intrigue.

If you're not a stickler for consistency, I would definitely recommend this manhwa, though.

interesting concept, but not for the thoughtful reader

I love the idea and the intended mystery but that's it. nothing about this makes it above average. like I said, I love the idea and the plot but the execution of it is meh... the mangaka's storytelling skills is mediocre. the characters were poorly developed and appeared one-sided to me. nothing made them special or redeeming. Seol Hui is suppose to be this two-faced girl which is suppose to make her interesting but her personality was random and disjointed. it just didn't click. ditzy heroines with dark side is completely possible, this one was just executed poorly. sometimes seol hui will say some stuff that makes you think "wow, that was insightful" but it felt forced and didn't meet its purpose. and I don't see what makes her so special. maybe it's cause she's pretty or cause she has money because realistically, she is a total nutcase. if her relationship with the other characters were introduced more realistically, I'd probably enjoy this more.

I agree with the previous poster, Peppermint. The relationships feel forced and awkward. I like the idea of it but i think the mangaka couldve done a better job.

The art is nice, if you're referring to the faces. The limbs and everything else is disproportionate and I couldn't stop cringing everytime there was a full body shot. Seol Hui has the face of a 23 year old but the body of a 14 year old. I hate the way the author draws the bodies. Its so sloppy done and one of the reasons why I dropped this.

This manhwa is creepy.
After reading 3 volumes of it, I still have not formed a good or bad impression of it. It actually amazes me that I got through a whole 3 volumes of it since it was not very stimulating at all.
The plot is intriguing, I do admit that--it has got a mysterious air about it, but the characters don't really click with me.

The main girl is interesting in that she is clever, but doesn't show it. She pretends to be clueless--this side of her really annoyed me. There doesn't seem to be a deliberation in her action at all; no clear pattern to her thinking and switching between personalities. She doesn't seem to have a real solid goal. It's all very jumbled. I don't really have a good impression of her as a character. I just think that she's not a strong character. Maybe I'm wrong, but at this point, I'm just tired of sticking around.

The girl Sera is extremely weak minded. She's always complaining. Sure, that only means that she's just a normal human being, but I still don't like the constant self-deprecating, oh woe me, attitude. Maybe she will develop in the future, but I ain't sticking around, unfortunately.

The art is ok, though... I agree with the previous commenter on the body art; it's not very proportional or aesthetically pleasing imo.

I may come back and read this.

This is one hell of a series. It started out interesting, I love Alisas personality and how she acts. It will catch your interest right away.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
The first thing we found out a bout her was that she was clever despite acting foolish and then we found out about her "disease" and that she was nearly immortal.

This in itself added alot to the story. We've found out more and more about her and I always thought it was sad that she would die around the age of 40.

The latest plot twist just made it even more exciting and we found out that she is probably immortal and that her "mother" never existed, I'd guess that she placed herself on that isle for 20 years to give herself a new character, sort of like a "rebirth"

I'd guess that she remember everything about the "dreams" since she experienced it and that he either made some promise that in his next life he'd do something in his next life for her or something like that, it's related to her immortality for sure

Ugly artwork?? I dont have a problem with the art, it seems fine to me. O___o;;;;;

Anyways, the plot is so intriguing! Alisa is such a msytery, the beginning of the manwha was kinda like shoujo-ish but the tones becoming darker as the chapters progressed.

She;s one of the most interesting female characters I've encountered..her character..charisma, quirkiness...everything about HER outshines everyone in the manwha, a worthy heroin for a worthy manwha!

P.S, I always trust Janime's choices in providing us the best manga/manwhas around~!!<3
*Can't wait to read moarrr!! <3<3

There are many mixed feelings about this series from what I see, but I myself love it. I am used to a more calm lead and a slower story line rather than a quick paced one so this really was an old favorite of mine. I hope you give it a try to see if you like it or not. It's a great series

I enjoyed the concept the author centers the story around with: The idea of life and the different aspects in it. She portrays different philosophies of life with her characters. eg. Some live reckless, some being a doormat for others. The thing I enjoyed the most in this story would be trying to figure out what the author views are and a bit of her personality. I believe she leaves a indiscreet imprint in her story.
Other things I want to note about this manwha is I agree with most of the reviews. The story is a bit cliche and the author seems to have trouble piecing her ideas together to make the story come to life. I don't recommend it to anybody who doesn't enjoy clumsy work but that being said I am a total sucker for 2nd rate stuff.

The translations are really awkward. This is the main reason why I dropped this manhwa a few years back. But once you get over them, you notice that the story is very good, except for a few annoying clichés. The female lead is totally unconventional and the mystery surrounding her make it so very interesting. The artwork is pretty, too. It has a different style, so it just needs a little getting used to it.

Overall Impression: Above Average

Although I'm enjoying it well enough, there isn't that much to comment on. The first volume implies that it's going to be a violent supernatural story, but then ... um, yeah. It's basically slice-of-life following a different character around. While I don't mind reading about her life - there's no real strong push anywhere that lifts it above average.

I don't understand the complaints about the art. Looks good to me.

Im currently on ch 19 and im starting to hate this manhwa more and more as the story progresses. Guys are coming out of the woodworks professing their love for Seol Hui, which i find so weird!! She is not some great beauty, has a morbid sense of humor, and her only good trait can be her wealth i guess. Not to mention most of the guys are celebrities.... --_-- plus there is NOOOO development on what the hell the dreams are about and in connection to. Whenever their is a glimpse of it, its like someone was dying instead of a "great love" that she claims it to be. just plain weird!!!
