This is one of the best shoujo romance series out there and was very good in character development and interaction. Until the last story arc. Sadly the slowed down story development plus the switch to a once a monthly (irregular) from bimonthly (irregular) the few years has significantly hurt this series. If it had the same development early on OR had a more often and regular release schedule I am confident it would do fine. As it is, for a monthly series it is both too slow AND too short. It is still very good and I adore it. But I really do not want to wait another 5 years for this series to be concluded if it moves at this pace.

I don't feel its dragged out at all, i mean, the romance definitely has but i like slow romances. Additionally its nothing compared to Glass Mask which is still going. I do have to say though that it is frustrating, its a bit repetitive with Tsuruga getting mad and what not but the latest chapter (193) has really got me hating on Kyoko. HOW COULD SHE SAY THAT?? I DON'T GET IT?? I'm so angry at her i could scream!!!! SCRRRRREEEEEAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

It's a good series though. Read it and you won't be disappointed.

I agree with Qinni 100% Often times I get so frustrated with this series because of all the fillers and the needless drama, but I still love it SOO much. I anxiously wait and get excited over new uploads. But honestly.. I feels its been dragged out far too long. And I really don't want to be disappointed by the ending. I'm praying that it wont be and open ended ending and it will conclude the way I (and probably everyone else) imagines it would.

I love the characters first of all. I think they're all great. Even the hateful Shou-chan haha The concept to me is delightful. And that's why I'm so stuck on this series after all these years! I love the art and the humor is always on-point for me. Even the little twists and turns that are unexpected and somewhat pointless is still really good lol

I do think that people might want to wait for the series to be completely uploaded before reading or else they might wait to drop it out of frustration, but this is really a good read. One of my all time faves.

It started off great, funny comedy, loved the personality of Kyoko; however, considering it's around 10 years old, it really is dragging out a LOT. It's obvious who's going to end up together, if the author is going to do a romantic ending (if it's not open-ended, i mean), and she puts a lot of fillers and long dialogues in between that's kind of ruining it for me....not to mention it's kind of frustrating to see two willful people not admitting their feelings for each other.

Oh well, I think I'm going to put this on hold until it's completely done, then go back and read it. It's pretty good though, but if you don't like long cliff-hangers, avoid this til this is done.

So when I see this manga all the time being highly praised I have to remind myself it's completely subjective and differences are what make people interesting. Personally thought everything about it sucked and anime is incredibly influencing.

It takes a-HELL-lot-of time progressing.

However, somehow (to me) it's not illogical and does not get you bored to the point of dropping the manga.

This manga is the best manga i have ever read in my life. It makes me laugh and squeeck and makes my family think i'm off in my own world because when i read this i cant even hear them taking to me have of the time. I'm just hoping that they come out with the next chapter very soon because i'm getting more and more assurance and the days go by.

I LOVE this manga!! My ALL TIME FAVORITE!!! There is nothing more complex and endearing. I cannot imagine anyone not relating to the lead character. Though recent chapters have been somewhat... boring (yea I am talking about the recent arc - Cain siblings), The only reason I don't like them is because they are too short and they lack a driven plot (kinda like LOST in their later seasons. Damn I swear I would watch an episode for a whole hour and NOTHING would happen!!!). Please excuse my tangent. I still read Skip Beat! because of the psychological journeys that both Kyouko and Ren endure are so riveting. Even though I am slightly bashing my favorite manga, I would like to point out that I have read it three times and still LOVE it!!! I HIGHLY recommend!!!

This is indeed a great shojo manga. i love almost everything about it.. characters, story line, setting, dialogues and contents.. The only thing i absolutely DO NOT like is its slow releases. I don't mind that they're trying to stretch its story longer than necessary, but its releases are just irritating! I found myself reading few volumes back everytime there's a new release for me to remember what happen and who those other characters were. I wonder what's taking them so long?

I rarely read shoujo manga, I prefer Seinen/Shounen manga where you see a lot of Kick ass heroines plus the plot is not too repetitive. So After seeing good reviews of Skip beat from other manga sites I decided to read it & boy was I surprised that the manga turned out to be entertaining and a page turner that I want to finish it in less than a week.

Surprisingly the manga is not a typical mushy- mushy shoujo because it has depth, unrushed romance & the protagonist Kyoko is so smart, funny, quirky & ambitious that I ranked her as one of the best female lead on a manga ever.

Anyway this might be an off topic & sorry for SPOILERS but I just want to give my thoughts at @soybean710 comments down there. He/she obviously has not read the manga yet to comment that the plot was rushed when some of the people on this page is complaining about the sometimes slow developments of the story, moreover, he/she's making up stories about how the main character got the job easily when Kyoko did not even pass her audition thus she was put in the "love me section" so she can prove her worthiness to be a celebrity; plus this poser is also conjuring up scenarios like how the main character was able to manage to catch Ren's attention when Ren did not like her at first, his treatment was changed when he saw the effort & hardwork that Kyoko exerts whenever she was given a hard task & the fact that she was Ren's little friend in the past makes his liking Kyoko real & not forced for the sake of fan service.

Last but not the least -" Story went downhill when she started acting". This manga is all about acting so you get to see some of the best parts of the manga when Kyoko starts to act.

Sorry If my post is bit too long it's just that it's so unfair to read comments from people who obviously didn't read the manga & just wasting space for trolling...Just saying!
