I love the manga, it's one of my favourites out there, but I thought it could've been so much more. It's not that the characters are shallow, the arcs short or anything like that, but it's like the characters could be deeper, and the arcs could be longer. Don't get me wrong, I love this to bits, but it kills me to read it thinking about everything that it could've been. The arcs are short enough so you don't loose interest, yes, but the development on the characters in them lacks. For example, if someone shows up for an arc, they remain a small crappy layer unless they are reintroduced, and even then, that does very little unless they become one of the main group.

Then there's the battles. The main characters don't seem to get stronger, not even miraculously so for the final fight, but their enemies just get weaker the second time around. Lucy is so blatant with this. And what annoys me the most is that between arcs the characters get hugely stronger even though there is only supposed to be days, maybe a week or so, between each arc. I mean, seriously! There's no training (bar very later chapters), and the main strength comes from nakama speeches, which are utter bull. Then there's the fan service. About 1 in 10 women in it are normal, the rest all big breasted and practically whore about. It's like a constant summer where all cloths bar bikinis and other revealing things don't exist. I mean, poor Levy who's normal, but looks not as good do paired to the others!

Yet, you can't help but read. There's no real sustainable plot after the Tower of Heaven, maybe the Edolas arc (but that might just not be), and things appear as if from nowhere without explanation other than "you were gone and they somehow conveniently did this and this happened". There's no real motive to finish, but you just do. It's good fun to read, even with all of its many, many flaws.

First off I have to say you can not compare Fairy Tail to One Piece, or any other manga for that matter. I mean look at the sales, One Piece has sold over 250M volumes and sells more than any other manga on volume releases.

Now on to Fairy Tail, I'm currently like 30 chapters because of how predictable and repetitive this manga is. I liked it at first and I followed it week to week, but it didn't change one bit no exciting new powers that would have me on edge and the forceful suspense the mangaka tries to put in doesn't excite me one bit.

When I first got into this me and a lot of other people that were around at the time saw that the art style really reminded us of One Piece. As people try to say One Piece's art style sucks compared to this it's all about the creativity on top of the good art. FT has good art but lacks harshly in the creativity department. The fan service does it no justice but excite the little puppies of those who read this for that reason since every single fight some female is being stripped.

I think fairy tail has its own way of getting to the emotion to everyone . like everyone needs a Friends .I mean no one can live alone in A world without a Friend . I mean everyone needs a helping hand , an advice by a friend not only in parents . And there's also the Humor of this movie . Its very hard to make people laugh at your joke but this one sure makes others laugh . No wonder this manga get AN award as ON THE community , because Its shows the loving care of a friend a family that will never leave you , that a friend will make you laugh in times of your sadness.

I should say this manga is nice in its own way . I have watch and read lots of manga and I want a manga that have an element of life not just made a story that everyone will like because of its fighting skills or its humor or it wonderful effect but a movie that will live and a lesson to be learn to everyone .

and I have read the other comment. Yes , there is a beginning in the story , if you have watch the first epesode of this movie and understand Why Magic Was Made ? And Why It appear In Life ? And Why Mage Is There ? And Why It Came The Author Came With it ?

Some Says Fairy Tail is better than One Piece Or not . But to make it the point , MAYBE FAIRY TAIL IS BETTER THAN ONE PIECE OR BLEACH OR THE OTHER . BECAUSE YOU CANT JUST COME UP WITH A WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT LIKE WHY ANYONE SAY ONE PIECE OR THE OTHER IS BETTER WHEN YOURE WORD JUST ALREADY SAID THAT ITS BETTER YOU JUST CANT ACCEPT IT. IT A PSYCHOLOGICAL WAY NOT TO ADMIT BUT ITS HAS A KEY WORD OR CLUE ON IT . COMPARING IT TO THE OTHERS SOUND LIKE IT PRECEEDED TO THE OTHERS.

I SHOULD SAY EVERY MOVIE ANIME MANGA HAS ITS WAY ON MAKING EVERYONE SATISFY AND ENTERTAINED US FOLLOWERS . LETS JUST ENJOY WATCHING BECAUSE WERE ENTERTAINERS THATS NEED TO BE ENTERTAIN SO WE WILL NOT GET BORE

Out of all the fighting manga I've read, I like this one the most. I love the artwork. The artist, you can tell, has a really good grip on his trade! Personally, I think the way he never draws two people alike is awesome. The only reason I'd see for anyone to dislike it is the style.
Sure, it's fight a boss, shout about Nakama, level up, but the characters do develop. They aren't 2-D (in personality, in personality), and I, for one, find myself desperately rooting for them in every fight. I've also never gotten a feeling of "argh, hasn't this gone on long enough", as I have several times with Bleach and Naruto (I cannot say a thing about One Piece, as I haven't read that yet).

During the past few chapters, somehow it's starting to feel like it's finally reaching the crux of the matter, showing that all along, it DID, in fact, have a main plotline it was running on, haha. There's quite a few mysteries that I'd love to see explained, and I'm positive that they will be explained later on.

I'd recommend people to read it, though I can understand it would not be to some people's taste. It's got it's comedy, and it's seriousness, and I just really like it.

I enjoy the trivia where the author refer to his previous work. good selling strategy. The arc isn't all that bad, it's just lack tension. I think it could be better if only the author would stick to the plot in which natsu searches for igneel. But as the way it is now, it couldn't be better than umm... do excuse me  CRAP.

This story is extremely lacking in suspense. I can't say much else because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who'd actually enjoy this series but wow you will not be feeling worried about the characters at all.

Rated 6. The only positive point I found is that the mangaka is making money so surely this story is entertaining a decent amount of people.

I seriousley cant believe that peope are praising it. Other than its some comedic parts,its worthless both in terms of the plot and art.
Full of the annoying cliches where every enemy show after another who says the previous one was weakling where the protagonist nearly lost his life and then the new so called great enemy brags about himself and nearly overpowers protagonist.....and then? Well I am sure you can guess what happes nexy~ the most overused friendship power-up cliche.
Art is terrible especially if you are talking about female characters and so are male characters except a few. Please dont compare it to the great works like One Piece because it would be a insult.

You probably would ENJOY it like many others IF you dont mind MEANINGLESS plot with overused cliches and somewhat terrible art. If you really want to waste time then ther are thousand of other series who are FAR better than Fairy Tail both in terms of story and art.

because of the manga, sometimes when I watch the anime I feel like I already watched it before
it's a really good series, especially for the humor ^^ can't stop launghing and feel like a fool. I love their friendship.

Nakama power + asspull + nakama speech. That's it. I just describe the whole plot of this manga to you. Nothing more, nothing less. An opponent was hyped to be much stronger than hero, completely dominate hero in one chapter; no worry, 1 nakama speech, 1 power up and 1 hit KO. There's nothing unexpected in this manga. A fight between 2 character, hero wins, in a stupid way, no matter what.

Too much & distasteful fanservice. Heroines act like whores who need to show their panties & big ass boobs everywhere.

The author tries too hard to shoehorn drama into the story, but it doesn't works. Characters burst out crying every single chance they have. The emotion just isn't there. There's no such moments like Strawhat saving Nico robin, or Jiraiya death (not saying Naruto is good, but it's still better than this POS). In Fairy Tails, characters do die, just so that they can be brought back later by some asspulled plot device. And I'll say it again, the drama doesn't exist.

This manga is better than bleach, but of course one piece is still much better. There is really no main plot. There are a lot of subplots though which i say not bad if there is a main plot. Although the plots are a little narrow or simple, the episodes are tolerable. Hopefully each arc are longer and much more leaner or something. There are episodes that could be done in one episode...if you know what I mean.

Also it's not always about friends or nakama or guild or something. There are much more things in life than those things. Im hoping to see significant character growth in the future.

To summarize, the story lacks substance. Substance over form. Nevertheless, ft is still much better than bleach.
