Not your typical shounen

Take away most of the cliches.Take away the hero being overpowered, suddenly gaining new powers in the eve of battle, take away prolonged 10 plus chapters of never ending battels, take away the good guys always winning, take away prolonged talks about friendship, take away stupid filler chapters, take away a mangaka who drags on his manga for the sake of profit and you have Full Metal Alchemist. This manga is one of the best shounen manga out. The mangaka was in full control from start to finish vividly describing all the characters and letting us know fully about the plot and typing up all the loose ends throughout the manga. The mangaka stuck to her own rules, and truly made this manga shine. This is an awesome manga and not enough can be said about how good it is. For shounen fans, this is a must read.

It's kinda surrel and terribly bitter-sweet but all good things have to come to a end. FMA will truly be one of the greatest manga i have the pleasure of reading. The action, storyline, characters everything that molded this manga together will be missed. On that note, i'll definetly look out for the mangaka's next work, i'm sure it will be good.

I cant believe it's over... All those yearn I've been reading fma and somehow I've wished that it'd never end... you know forver lasting journey of Ed, Al and all of his friends... but it's over... damn it! Not even a single kiss of WinryxEd or RoyxRiza.. well, there are still fan fictions biggrin But! The train scene was... like omg! Ed is so.. adult.. so mature!
Alchemy in Xing is different so maybe... It wouldn;'t be bad if there was a sequel, even a short one

This definitely goes into one of the top for me. This manga never dragged on for me ever. Nearly every chapter was full of plot and story progression and it never wasted time. That's a rare thing. FMA for me will be known as an excellent manga that never tried to prolong itself. Hell, it's ending was also a magnificent one that pretty much tied up every loose tie.

Must Read

This is one of the best manga that I've ever read. It's very unique compared to other Shounen series in that it doesn't try to prolong its life as much as possible. There's very little filler material and the story keeps moving forward, which keeps it exciting. There's also no power-ups, death-rays, or other ridiculous Shounen elements that drag down the maturity level of the series.

Overall, you get the sense that the author had the entire story planned out beforehand and the manga just tries to tell that story as well as possible, which it does perfectly. I highly recommend this manga to everyone.

One of my favorites

Well, I finally read the ending, and now I am looking forward to a nice $260 bill, because I seem to need these books. Ending was really good, art was solid all the way through, and the story that took a few turns ended up running right back into a good ending.

I really can't think of anything more to ask for from this ending, except maybe a bit more face time with the brothers lives after everything is finished. Probably the highest I have ever rated a manga, but this one deserves it.
