I have always, always been a shoujo girl, but there's something about this manga/anime that drew me in. One reason was that I used to watch it all the time when I was little, mostly because I had a little girly crush on Ed (let's face it... the Elric brothers are pretty awesome.), but back then I had no idea what it was actually about. Now that I had actually decided to try it out again I was hooked. Long sleepless nights, and schooless days. And they were all worth it. It has so much heartfelt emotion and the plot is spotless. I could rewatch/read it over and over again.

I loved it! I was hooked after reading the first volume. I was sad that it ended, (even though I was laughing through the entire final chapter) but I'm happy it wasn't one of those that went on forever. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I cant believe it's over... All those yearn I've been reading fma and somehow I've wished that it'd never end... you know forver lasting journey of Ed, Al and all of his friends... but it's over... damn it! Not even a single kiss of WinryxEd or RoyxRiza.. well, there are still fan fictions biggrin But! The train scene was... like omg! Ed is so.. adult.. so mature!
Alchemy in Xing is different so maybe... It wouldn;'t be bad if there was a sequel, even a short one

I originally came across FMA by seeing the english dubbed version of the first anime on tv years ago. I loved it from the very first episode. After the anime was done, I picked up the manga hearing it was a little different. EPIC. I could elaborate, but I won't. You don't wanna miss out on an great manga? Read it.

I agree with the person below me in regards to the morality and society themes. It's a shounen manga, but it has very mature tones and ideas. This is the kind of story and characters that spark ideas in new stories from generations to come. It's truly one of the best stories of all time.

Ive been reading this series for about 2 years now and it always gets better and better. The chapters are just long enough for me not to get antsy about waiting another month to read a new one.

It seems like the story is getting close to the end with the latest chapter(Ch. 97).

Spoiler (highlight to view)
When greed showed up at the end of the chapter, i literally cheered out loud 'REVENGE TIME'.

I LUVV Full metal Alchemist!! It's one of my favorite manga. When I first started reading it, i was totally hooked. I loved it. Then when it got dark and dramatic, it got really exciting and breath taking. But now, it kinda calmed down, but I'm definately expecting more awesomeness. Thank you Hiromu Arakawa for bringing the world this totally awesome series!!

Anime or Manga

Watched the Anime, loved the Anime, then read the Manga, loved the Manga, then watched the Anime and well, it's quite bad actually.

Can't blame them, making an anime when the manga isn't even finished will always end nowhere as good as the manga most of the times (with fews exceptions like... well... hmmmm... well, that's not because I can't think of any that there isn't).

Well, anyone who liked the anime will just love the manga, and if there's someone who didn't like the anime (an exception, like... hmmmm... well, there probably are some, somewhere), he should just give the manga a try, it's worth it.

This is one of most well-written series I've ever read. The plot is filled with twists, and every new plot development brings answers but even more questions. You just can't put it down.

Some people might find fault with its art because of its style (which they consider "not-so-great art"), but I feel it's appropriate for it's European-esque context.
