A collection of stories, mostly about romance with appropriate dashes of humour.
1. Itou-san
Numerous brief comics about the life of a single 28-year old known to readers only as Itou-san, and her day-to-day interactions with a colleague whom she later dates.
2. Sensei +
An ordinary 25-year old schoolteacher meets a man who claims he can use magic and who goes on to ask her to return the magic she's borrowed from him, although she has no memory of such a thing. But when she uses magic, she turns into a magical girl instead?!

When you think of a collection of one-shots about romance you think shoujo. This collection was a refreshing take on how it's done seinen style. The first story is like a shorter version of Bonnouji. The second story was pretty bittersweet heart wrenching. They are all short stories with great quality and originality.
What I like about Aki Eda is how her slice of life mangas really do give a "everyday life" feeling, mostly because her stories consist only on calm characters talking and flirting most of the time.
And... what I like about Itou-san is how the mangaka explores the different types of love and different types of development in very short stories, but still inside that calming atmosphere.
We have one about two people getting together, other about how magic can create a love story, one about unexpected feelings and so on. Ones receive more attention while others just show a glimpse of their relationship, but both send their messages about love and romance.
Also, the good part is that it not only focus on romantic relationship limited to "boyfriend and girlfriend", but it also has married couples, platonic love, kouhai-senpai relationships...
As a slice-of-life, it's very good to past time and laugh a bit. Some one-shots in this manga you are going to wish they were longer (for me, High & High, Sensei+ and Bluff), but I guess having a good ending in a short one-shot is the good part of it ("This is surprisingly good for such a short story!").
Give it a try!
