Quite good

Have to say I like this one, the setting is not original at all, (Hikaru no Go with doctors) but it's nicely done and the two MCs combo works nicely, Shinonome is a bit too much of an idiot for a master surgeon and Tasuku is too much of a hero thou. Still, as MondSemmel states, the main issue with this series for me is that it falls in the repetitive cycle of random encounters with people that just happen to have an accident in front of the MCs, it also just happens that they only have 5m' to save the patent and the aid always just happens to be late every time, I guess Ambulances in Japan are just terrible eh, also, many of the events end abruptly which is a bit annoying. There is a bigger picture to the story, Tasuku wanting to be a doctor but I would have liked a bit more focus on that than on the repetitive stuff.
In any case, I found this one quite enjoyable, the characters were interesting and the events engaging. It's a pity it's so short. Also someone please finish translating this, I can't even find the raws of the last volume.

Appealing, but formulaic

Dr. Duo follows an episodic formula of presenting some characters each chapter, one of whom then suffers an injury or illness, and Tasuku for some reason being the only person who can do the first response. (Typical reason: the ambulance is too slow or late, all ambulances are already in use, or there's no escape route from the accident site). In that sense, it's similar to a murder mystery series like Detective Conan; though the usual one-episode-per-chapter format leads to some rather abrupt episode conclusions.

That said, the episodes are fun, varied, and enjoyable. I just wish the episodic nature of the series were a bit less obvious. (The first ~7 episodes were a healthy 40-70 pages long, while later episodes typically encompass just 20 pages.)

I really enjoy not only the concept, but also they way that it is conveyed. It has the potential to go even further as an animated series and maybe even a drama. It is one of the best reads I've had in a long time. Hope more chapters keep coming!

Being a fan of hikari no go I was intrigued by the description. This story deserves more recognition, it has some pretty intense moments and interesting plot. Though it may seem repetitive at times it always sparks my interest leaving me awaiting the next chapter. I am not very squeamish when it comes to blood, but the situations that happen in this series make me cringe at times.
