Recommending people to not read the second volume

I have a big problem with how this manga is set up. First off, chapters one through three were mostly focused on Hana, which I liked. But then, jumping into volume two you find out that only one out of the three chapters that make up volume two are connected to the original story (though it is not focused mostly on hana, but Hana school friend). The two chapter at the end of volume two are short side storied which I was angry about. I wanted loose ends to be revealed, or for the series to be longer.
Furthermore, when comparing the first volumes art to the second volumes, you notice that there is a major diffrent in art style.

For the first volume I'd have to rate it an 8. In my opinion don't bother reading the second volume, ran ing the second volume as a three.

It was very smutty, but story delivery was poor.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
it started out interesting.. A girl all alone found by a sexy man.. Had a twisted story about her father to go along with it.. It didn't take much for her to want him?! As well as cry everywhere, and get taken advantage of from everyone. Pretty much could have been a prodtitute.. And I find it weird the mother of M totally respects an escort boss. Story ended/ cut off in a weird way..The side story's were boring to me.

I found the art to be weird.. Like swollen cheeks all over.

o.O Hm...

Ok so its not often that a manga goes from one style of art into another, nor is it common for the quality of art to go from good to bad to good to bad like a yoyo... but this one managed it. First few chapters are in a pretty standard art style, nothing too fancy, decent enough and quite clean looking overall. Then about mid way through the style just suddenly changes, it becomes a little more mature looking, more use of tones and less in the way of 'close-up's' i noticed too. Really odd. I also found the first chapter to have cleaner art than the ones following and noticed the occasional dip in the art quality before it picked itself up again. Its really rather odd.

Plot-wise again not the best, quite weak at times but mildly entertaining so not a total waste or anything. Was more intriguing in the first few chapters though. Not into the whole 'weak female lead' thing though, she drives me a bit batty towards the end there, she really is really really weak x__x a little bit of a spine would have been nice. Im also a bit confused... so the guys, they're eyes change and look all feral at times and they scan 'scent' her... and they never explain how that worked exactly o.o i get the feeling this was going to have a supernatural angle which somehow got forgotten or scrapped mid-way. Anyway, the lack of ending bugs me most of all. I like a nice rounded ending, even if there are open sections to it, some sort of ending it appreciated, this just sort of hit a wall and stopped suddenly.

6/10 for the entertainment and occasional good use of art, but overall its pretty weak and there are plenty of better manga out there.

Liked the themes, but disappointed in the story development? Read Jazz.

Sum up: If the odd art strangely attracted you, the personalies and themes punched you in the emotional gut, and you don't discriminate against the gender of the lovers, read Jazz by MAEDA Sakae and TAKAMURE Tamotsu for a similar but far superior exploration.

The art is interesting--definitely grew on me. It's expressive and full of manga art tropes, but it flowed well within the story.

The story itself was captivating, but terribly undeveloped. Each character had an interesting backstory and their psychological development could have really shone. For example, Hana's character was actually quite believable for an abused child, but I would have liked to have seen her mature further as she helped the emotionally repressed Takaya.

I don't know what to say but this manga is really weird. I don't really care about the smutty scenes, but I care more about the plotline instead. Somehow, everything seems jumbled up and some part are rushed and the art is so...muscular like. I don't really like the character's facial expression not to mention that this manga is dark.

No Ending...

At first I thought the manga was ok and at least had somewhat of a story, but it went off course to a story about princes? Also the story didn't end, and all that pretty much happened was she got raped but sometimes wanted it? Also she had some sort of scent that she couldn't get rid of no matter what, that aroused guys.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Lastly it never explained what the sins on Takaya and the other hosts were

No ending?

This story had no ending. The story of the love between the two main characters just didn't cut it for me. It was... yeah. >.> I couldn't feel the love. I was so disappointed.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The story never really explained as to why the hosts could smell a scent coming off of Hana and why Hana even had a scent.
On a good note, I enjoyed the love between Samejima and Matsuri and the two side stories. They were so sweet .(^.^)

Seriously, don't bother with this. The art isn't even passable and the storyline is cliched and predictable. But mostly the art ... I didn't enjoy it one bit. I have a tendency to download whole volumes at a time rather than chapters and after skimming the first volume I deleted the second without even opening it. Let's run through things element by element

Art - 2/10
I mean wow, I don't think i've seen anything quite like it for a while. Reminds me of something i would be capable of drawing. The faces are lopsided, all the girls have tiny faces and giant eyes and all the boys have giant angular faces with even more hugely disproportionate (small) eyes. And the hair ... if there was anyone in the world who walked around with spikes dangling down their faces like the ones in this mange i would go at him with a sharp pair of scissors. So annoying.

Plot 2/10
Points for trying. There are mature elements, abuse, redemption and whatnot but it's like a badly written soap opera. The elements are all there but you can't overlook the shoddy acting (artwork) and the appalling execution. Despite giving these characters incredibly angsty backgrounds, they are all shallow and unappealing. eg. girl = abused, response = cry at all and every opportunity and or / sleep with another abusive man. Now i know there are some out there who enjoy the whole s/m relationship but this is one to avoid due to sheer low quality-ness.

I am amazed it took two whole volumes to present these stories. if it was a shoddy one shot i might have given it 3 stars. When points are awarded for sheer brevity - stay away.
